Dark Souls Trilogy under consideration for Switch

From Software is reportedly thinking about releasing the Dark Souls trilogy, and a complete version of Dark Sould 3, for Nintendo Switch

I don't know how I feel about that.
On the one hand, it's more support.
Late support, but support nonetheless.

On the other, though, I've heard a lot about how brutal these games are, and I'm not sure how much I'd like them...

The collection better not be super expensive, or that could be a turn-off.

They're brutal the first time you ever play one of them. Once you get over the learning curve, then you're left with one of the most intense, rewarding game experiences around. The difficulty stops being intimidating and just becomes fun eventually.

Nu3452d ago

I just can't because if I die I have to do all the killing all over again.
It's too repetitive and frustrating. I'm more a Dragons Dogma RPG person.

ravinash3452d ago

@Nu

You don't have to do ALL the killing again, you do eventually start opening up shortcuts and other fires to sporn at.
It just encourages you to want to get good.

Look man, take this advice. If you do, I promise, you will not regret it and you will thank me for it.

Buy the collection and get this thought in your head. "I will finish this game no matter what. Others have done it and I can do it too. I've been playing games for years. I can do this" - if you have this thought when you honestly feel like the game is just too hard and it's not for you... then you will find a way and it will become one of the greatesst games you've ever played in your life.

I went through this exact process when Demon's Souls firsts came out on PS3. I swear I played for a long time and felt like I was getting nowhere. I thought, 'bloody hell, this is just too hard'. I stopped playing and was angry. But the next day I had that first thought that I mentioned earlier, "I will finish this no matter what. I can do it". Then I realised, that Demon's Souls was the greatest game I've ever played in my life. That experience in that game I've never even come close to having. This is what the Souls series can do for you... if you persevere and let it happen. The choice is yours..

Sorry bout the crap I just posted lol, but I'm telling you, it really is one of the greatest series ever invented for consoles. Demon's Souls, the Dark Souls series and Bloodeborne.

They're challenging but not overly difficult. They'd be awesome on the Switch. Much like Elder Scrolls I would gladly welcome Dark Souls and Demon's Souls (though this won't happen) on the Switch.

You need to be patient specially for Dark Souls 1
most people won't think it's a good game until they reach half way through it because the combat is like nothing they tried before and it feel clunky if didn't used to it because the animations are outdated even for 2011
Dark Souls 2 doesn't feel as clunky and Dark Souls 3 have very smooth animations

the game is difficult compare to other games these days but if you played NES, SNES games you'll know From Software bring the old school experience to the new era

Movefasta19933452d ago

Half way?i knew that game was special the moment I reached the forest

Vegamyster3452d ago

It really isn't that hard, you just have to realize that you can't play it like a hack and slash game. Nearly every enemy has a wind up to their attacks which is what i see people struggling with the most when they start off, they're so eager to spam dodge/roll before the enemy initiates into a attack which leaves them vulnerable.

TheFirstClassic3451d ago

The difficulty of these hames is exaggerated way too much. They are challenging and there is no hand holding, but I have had no trouble beating all five games.

OH GOOD LORD YES! That would be simply amazing news for Switch!!! I've just started a new char today on DS3 but I'll be happy to play it all again on the go

Malice-Flare3452d ago

i hope the hardware is powerful enough, but the appeal of Dark Souls is that slowdown in Blighttown...

And those mosquitos, too :)

Imagine being able to coop or invade anyone also playing in your area while out playing this lol.
I was already convinced about buying the Switch, this just makes the purchase even easier.

All the bosses are only from Dark Souls. No Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, or Demon Souls
