I definitely agree, and if rumors are true, the Nintendo Switch will also be having an explosive line-up. MS will need a lot of stellar first party games if they want to excite gamers for the Scorpio

Herbalistic3328d ago (Edited 3328d ago )

The Switch could end up beating Xbox One worldwide long as Nintendo doesn't screw up in terms of content and features.. Microsoft doesn't offer enough variety of software in my opinion

etownone3328d ago

The switch could end up beating PS4 worldwide.

see... i can say silly comments too

kaizokuspy3328d ago

I'm leaning toward switch beating xbox world wide. I thought the wii and wii u were useless consoles, but if switch actually has 2-3 games at launch that are good, I'm on the switch train.

Muzikguy3328d ago

Especially in the family friendly department. I haven't owned a Nintendo console since waaaaaaaaay back with the NES. Just had a kid though and I'm definitely thinking about getting the Switch

For the record it's not that I didn't want Nintendo stuff, just that after N64 I didn't care for the consoles. As for SNES and N64, friends had those so I was already playing a lot. I stuck with PS because of the games and lack of time as I got older.

McGamer3327d ago (Edited 3327d ago )

If anything, Switch has more in common with PS4 pro as far as hardware goes, lol. That being said, Switch would easily out-sell PS4 pro and their '4k streaming'. Microsoft has plenty of software to offer, sorry you don't like games that involve realistic graphics and less cartoonish side-scrollers.

With my PS4PRO, PSVR and Switch my backlog will be massive. I may buy an Xbox someday when its super cheap and buy the few exclusives they have that I want to play at the end of the generation, but that list is so small I dont even consider it at this point and if I really wanted too I can get it on PC.Has Cuphead released yet? That game looks cool but heard about it years ago and dont think its out yet? That and Scalebound are all I am interested in at this point but they seem to keep getting pushed back, though I am skeptical about Scalebound, hopefully it turns out better thsn QB and Recore.

WickedLester3327d ago

@bg116

No offense but if you really think Quantum Break and ReCore are "fantastic" then you need to play more games.

Muzikguy3328d ago

It'll be nice to see a competing Nintendo platform.

Bruh3328d ago

All they need is Pokemon and they'll overtake Xbox One's worldwide sales numbers in a year

Yeah, xbox doesn't have anything that can compete with the ps4 games.

xbox has that ultra blueray player though

MMO Pirate game
Open world shooter with cloud physics
RTS
Western/JRPG
Racer
Remaster of an adventure game

That's Xbox One/Scorpio's diversified lineup so far for 2017

343_Guilty_Spark3328d ago

Unless Microsoft has several secret studios working on games for Scorpio this seem pretty accurate. I hope they have some new games and IPs to help show off the power.

Rude-ro3328d ago

And I think this is what defines both companies and fan base....
Sony is showing off PS4 games that look amazing and then there are PS4 pro versions of those games that compliment higher end 4k tvs.
Microsoft has very little shown off and their fanbase is talking about power and that hopefully they are making games to utilize that power.
Power is not going to make games great.
Sure, they will look pretty but, for example, a shallow halo single player will still be shallow compared to what made them magical on the original Xbox.
We shall see, but throwing the Xbox one aside and giving them crappy ports just to brag about the power of the Scorpio will probably be a mistake as far as trying to reach a larger consumer base.

AngelicIceDiamond3328d ago

"Power is not going to make games great" While I absolutely agree but please explain this. http://n4g.com/news/1305847... No matter what fanboys always tried to pull ahead in the power department with PS4 no matter what please explain the behavior here they swore more power were gonna make everything so much better on PS4 no matter what.

Ravenor3328d ago

The magic of Halo 1 in 2001 was a console shooter had never been that big, expansive, look that great or play that great. Halo 5 has more mechanically going on than H1, the notion that H5 is some kind of abhorrent mess is just kind of funny. Especially when placed against H2.

We will see what MS plans software wise, I'd rather do that than play "poor man's pachter" like so many on here.

Rude-ro3328d ago

@AngelicIceDiamond
Are you wanting me to read a gamingbolt article? Not going to happen.
As far as the fankid war, that is and will always be a world of goalpost moving. I agree.
Would you link to Microsoft advertisements that used the slogan "where to play the better version"? Or the number of fankid "websites" that existed last gen celebrating any difference in games that favored the 360?
It is war of circles that will never go away.
But at this point in power with this gen of gaming, differences will be minuscule once again.
But a lot of people did make fun of a next gen system that could not hit 1080p and offered very little difference from the previous gen outside of what the console was actually doing. Not a certain fanbase, but a lot of gamers chipped in and a lot of the gamers jumped sides(obviously evident in the huge market swing)

Rude-ro3328d ago

@Ravenor
I disagree. The games magic came from the design and the connection of the npc's to the player in control. The mystery behind the story etc etc.
halo 5 may have more going on "mechanically" but it has nothing to do with story, connection, or mystery. Add in the shallowness of it and I say power has nothing to do with these facts I listed. It is the lack of a real vision for the game.

Stogz3328d ago

@AngelicIceDiamond just as Sony fanboys said power mattered, Xbox fanboy said it didnt. Both sides have changed their tunes, let's not pretend it's one sided...

game4funz3328d ago (Edited 3328d ago )

No. Last e3 Xbox showed recore, gears and Forza and sea of theives and dead rising... As well as some scale bound I think. 4 of those are releasing now.

MS just doesn't a psx like event to show off games coming in 2018,or later. You have to wait till the e3 to see if MS has anything to show for the Scorpio.

BlackTar1873328d ago

me too. I always buy every system. I haven't bought PS4 pro but i will when Horizon comes out. I need some fresh games on scorpio to buy it. Quite a pretty penny for a system from a company with a history of under performing in the number of games it has on it's console.

jznrpg3328d ago

I bet they will have a couple , but quality isnt guaranteed . I bet that one of them will be a shooter too

AngelicIceDiamond3328d ago

I agree MS needs several studios to work on the games for Scorpio for the mean time Sony has MS beat when it comes to number of games there's no denying that.

3328d ago
BlackTar1873328d ago

LOL Bg116 let's not get into how under performing MS is with games compared to sony. That is an embarrsing argument for you.

What exactly does sony have that is a "Hail Mary" TLOU2? Horizon? Spiderman? God Of war? what we talking about?

ILostMyMind3328d ago

This is the new hidden power: Secret studios. 😆

Goldby3328d ago

ohhh, so when they were saying The Cloud, or Direct X 12, those are Studio Names... it all makes sense now

Eterna1Ice3328d ago (Edited 3328d ago )

As far as i know right now, they just don't have a killer title prepared for 2017.
Halo Wars 2? Well, it is Halo, but it's a strategy game, and despite how great i think the first game was, the outcome for the developers wasn't a pleasant one.
Scalebound. I am excited for it, yet, let's face the truth, it's a JRPG (maybe an action one), which out of the consoles is made for Xbox One... That's a prolly a death penalty, as these games really struggle on the console with players that are mainly obsessed with shooters and sports games.
Sea of Thieves. The general opinion from those, who played it at E3/Gamescom is warm, but, come on we've seen dozens of games in the similar genre in the last couple years, and if the design of SoT is any indication, it's not aiming to be a flagship.
Another Forza game (obviously).
Crackdown 3. I don't know what's up with this game, wasn't there supposed to be some beta test by the end of 2016? Maybe it's not even coming to PC because of teh cloudz. Didn't care much about the game though.
Cuphead is really charming, and i surely enjoyed my time with 1st State of Decay (even despite its huge amount of bugs), but those are indie titles, no?
Phantom Dust ??? (Haha, is this game even still in development, maybe E3 will tell).

There you go. Aside from my first point, gotta applaud the unusually bigger amount of new or returning IPs for Microsoft.

Microsoft needs to be encouraging devs to do more than just clone what they did for PS4 Pro in my opinion, given it is a more powerful machine.

IamTylerDurden13146d ago

TESO is native 4K with HDR on PS4 Pro. What more do u expect on Scorpio? If ppl really believe the Crap Gamer rhetoric that every game will be native 4K 60fps on Scorpio then they will be sorely disappointed. In fact, there will certainly be a fair share of 3rd party games with parity between Pro and Scorpio.

freshslicepizza3146d ago

"In fact, there will certainly be a fair share of 3rd party games with parity between Pro and Scorpio."

That's called laziness if it happens. Many PS4 titles are 1080p and 900p on Xbox One so why do parity now? Please provide the proof of any claims Scorpio is supposed to be a 4k60fps console? You can't just tell developers to all of the sudden make 60fps games.

Goldby3146d ago

@Moldy

tyler is talkign about the fanboys thinking every game is going to be 4k 60fps on scorpio because... scoprio.

Laziness or proper budgeting? There wont nearly be as many ps4 pros or scorpios out there compared to the ps4 and xbox 1s so why would they go about making a patch for one and a separate patch for another one (that isn't even out yet)

at the end of the day, developers need to see some sort of return on their investment, and with ESO patch for pro making it 4k and HDR compatible, why is it a bad thing that the Scorpio is matching those?

freshslicepizza3146d ago (Edited 3146d ago )

@Goldby
"tyler is talkign about the fanboys thinking every game is going to be 4k 60fps on scorpio because... scoprio"

You guys keep saying this without naming names because in reality it's Sony fans trying to project unrealistic expectations so that they can say it didn't meet this imaginary threshold.

This difference in resolution started at the beginning of this generation, when there were zero sold yet. There was no parity at the beginning but you guys seem to hope it starts now, not surprisingly.

Goldby3146d ago

@Moldy

i'm not gonna go look through thousands of pages to see the 4k 60fps comments. i have more important things to do that waste my time debunking your ps4 fanboy comment.

There are people on the xbox forums (deamonisfear ebing one of them ) that has on regular basis said 4k60fps for scoprio.

and again, you didnt answer my question.
at the end of the day, developers need to see some sort of return on their investment, and with ESO patch for pro making it 4k and HDR compatible, why is it a bad thing that the Scorpio is matching those?

is it such a bad thing for tyhe developers to take a patch they already have, and make it work for the Xbox Scorpio, instead of investing a lot of extra time makign a specific patch for a console that will be a fraction of the actual xbox fanbase?

IamTylerDurden13145d ago

Moldy

The crap gamer crew goes around telling ppl that every game will be 4k 60 on Scorpio. I've seen it.

U don't remember Ubisoft and thier push for parity earlier this gen? It was absolutely a thing.

This is totally different than the PS4 and xb1 having parity anyway. These are extra consoles with a VERY limited install base. Don't u understand that? The likelihood of parity between Pro and Scorpio is far greater than the likelihood of parity between PS4 and xb1 bc the install base is so comparatively low on Pro and Scorpio it wouldn't necessarily be worth it financially to make 2 distinct premium console versions. Do u get that?

Goldby3143d ago

@Moldy
"You guys keep saying this without naming names because in reality it's Sony fans trying to project unrealistic expectations so that they can say it didn't meet this imaginary threshold."

how about you name off the sony fans who are projecting this unrealistic expectation.

don't worry moldy, i'll wait

BigWan783146d ago

"Well, can I approach it from a different angle then and ask you, what do you think consoles of the future like Project Scorpio need to do to make the most of the MMO genre?

I would definitely say power is key. Memory is key. Especially in a game like The Elder Scrolls Online. There are hundreds of characters running around on the screen at any one time. We can have a 300 person battle in our game and that eats up memory. That eats up computing power and it eats up VRAM. So, the more they can pack into those newer consoles, the better."

IamTylerDurden13146d ago

I'm not surprised, TESO is native 4K on Pro. Ppl love to scoff at the non native 4K games on Pro and ignore the actual games that achieve it.

soulsx3146d ago

Scorpio is not much powerfull than ps4pro diferences in quality of games be only on resolution. But ps4 pro give us too high res in games. Normal player don't see a differences.

BigWan783146d ago (Edited 3146d ago )

@soulsx

but there's a difference between resolution and graphics...

4k resolution is 4k no matter how u slice the pie.. but when you talk textures/graphics, that can make it night and day difference even to the non-gamer...

i still think HDR is the true hotness though...
