This is odd. The rumours have been it's either Sucker Punch or Guerrilla.

According to this guy's source it's a modified SP engine: https://twitter.com/YongYea...

But reliable Shinobi602 talked about it being Guerrilla's engine.

Goldby3458d ago

ya i heard it was a modified Sucker Punch Engine that was used for Second Son and First Light

Malice-Flare3459d ago

so, this reduces the budget to 10%? hmm...

gameseveryday3459d ago

It reduces budget several more than the figure you mentioned. Furthermore, the game will be developed quickly since the tools and framework will already be set. However the game won't come out anytime before 2018....in fact I will shocked (in a good way) if it releases in 2017.

See Rashid, an article worth visiting and discussing...

ClayRules20123459d ago

Well, if it's based on GG's engine, that's certainly not a bad thing at all =) I'm interested in hearing more about this engine...

Guerrilla Games's engine current for Horizon: Zero Dawn is quite possibly the most impressive game engine I've seen so far, not just for open world games, but for games in general. The gorgeous environments & overall detail for that open world game is simply stunning. Aloy's model is remarkably detailed and beautiful as well.

Lamboomington3458d ago (Edited 3458d ago )

I have to disagree, it's not the best looking game I've seen overall. I mean, Uncharted 4 on the PS4 is way more impressive, but it is a different kind of game (not open world)

I suppose this sort of comes down to preference because there isn't really a perfect comparison with this kind of thing.

ClayRules20123458d ago

That's totally fine that you disagree, bud. Uncharted 4 looks incredible, and "in my opinion" is the most beautiful & visually impressive game ever released "in my opinion" Naughty Dog are masters of their craft, in storytelling and graphics. My personal favorite game developers.

I know developers, depending on who that "said" developer is, can push the visuals to much much greater levels of brilliance in just about everything, if their game isn't open world, which Uncharted 4 isn't, I think that's more Wide linear, and Naughty Dog raised the graphics bar to another level "in my opinion" with Uncharted 4.

But I still feel that Horizon, for being an open world game, is quite possibly, more visually impressive, than Uncharted 4, in my eyes.

I understand what you're saying though, bud =)
Much love.

Hideo Kojima put Low Roar in Death Stranding because gamers need more culture in their lives

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.

Cool, as long as no one is losing their job while already rich people make more money.

Notellin217d ago

Exactly this right here. Tools should never replace creators.

DarXyde217d ago

I feel that this is the position of every sensible person. However, we face two prominent issues:

1. There are nefarious actors (like Microsoft) who want to prohibit AI regulation. Some US states have some regulations in place, but it's very patchwork at best.

2. Without strict quality control and human review, AI is very likely to hallucinate in embarrassing ways.

TheEroica217d ago

Lol.... People are gonna be losing their jobs...

Travesty217d ago

I’m all in favor for faster developed games.. that’s been the Achilles heel this gen.. taking 5+ years for development. If it can help with building vast landscapes then let it be. A win win if it doesn’t endanger the jobs of current team. They can help in other areas.

Gamersunite880217d ago

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

H9217d ago

I don't doubt kojima that he has good intentions and would use AI without compromising the creative process, but you know for sure other development will say the same and have AI make the whole game for them.

Notellin217d ago (Edited 217d ago )

Yeah and whoever he works for or whatever AI models he chooses to use will train on his data and work to replace Kojima themselves.

I can't imagine any other creator in gaming that demands the salary size of Kojima.

rlow1217d ago

What I wonder about, let’s say five years from now. Will an individual be able to make a triple A title using A.I…If so what would be the need for others? I hate to say it but eventually people will loose their jobs. Because I hear no talk about the ethics of using A.I. among the big companies.
