$105 Replacement USB Cable

Expensive cables in the audio community normally means some ridiculously overpriced cable that's made with all sorts of fancy materials and is supposed to improve audio quality. Sony has redefined this term with a unbelievable story from my home country of Norway.

"Though most of the news on N4G is directly game related it doesn’t necessarily have to be. A news story about a new technology for use in HDTVs is not directly related to video games but would still be of interest to many gamers. The Tech category would be fitting for this story."

Just sayin' that N4G isn't 100% only gaming news. Not sayin' if this should or shouldn't be here... just sayin'

Bubbles for you mfwahwah.

kwicksandz6401d ago

Thats almost as bad as 360 HDD pricing.

barom6401d ago

Sounds worst than it actually is (although it's still bad). 605kr in terms of the average norwegian PURCHASING POWER is more close to 60$. It's kinda like how their Big Mac meal costs 70kr or something and over here it's close to 6$. To make further comparisons, newly released PS3/360 games costs 600kr and over here it's 60$.

Also, not that it matters much but they usually don't have to pay taxes on consumer products. It's actually calculated in the price already so 600kr is the final price, nothing like 60$ + tax etc.

I'm glad that my creative zen uses a mini usb. I have half a dozen lying around from hard drives/cameras/card readers and if I ever lose all of those I can get a new one for $.99 on ebay

DJ6401d ago

http://www.sonystyle.com/we...

It's right here (from Sony) for $17.99. Temporarily out of stock, but it's there.

MiloGarret6401d ago

Read the article. The whole point is that this happened in norway.

Pedobear6401d ago

No one cares about norway. News=Pointless.

£500,000 Replacement House which Burnt down because it had a xBox 360 in it!!! ;-D
YOU CHOOSE!!!;)

thekingofMA6401d ago

"Thats nothing you wana hear how much we have shelled out for new xboxs because of RROD?"

well first of all, dumbass, since you say you're a "Sony Rep," the answer is zero

but MS actually fixes all RROD Xboxes for free. it was the right thing to do when they extended the warranties. so since you're the "Sony Rep," you must know that Sony did NOT do the same when countless PS1 and PS2 users faced problems. they had to buy new ones or shell out for repairs.

but @ Ken Kutaragi: you're my favorite ps3 fanboy. keep up the comedy.

DavidMacDougall6400d ago

It still costs them money jackass

thekingofMA6400d ago

that's quite irrelevant. i never said anything about MS in my original comment

I am guessing about 20$ for the Cable and 85 for shipping and handling :)

This shouldn't be really news, people in certain locations have to pay extra for certain items. I.e. Australia, who get raped and pillaged on all things electronics.

However things in Thailand and around that part of the world get alot of stuff cheaper (not bootleg either, with *some* quality)

Guwapo776401d ago

Not sure where in Thailand you go shopping. I was in Bangkok this pass June and electronics are roughly 10-15% more expensive than USA rates. Now software, that is a different story. You can get pretty much ANY computer software for less than 600baht ($17).

Guwapo776401d ago (Edited 6401d ago )

Disagree without a comment? Talk about mad ghey...probably never been to Thailand.

...This Laptop I'm using right now was bought in Thailand. Asus G1Sn. Paid $1800 found it online for $1650 (later)...
