Space Pirate Trainer Confirmed as Launch Day Title for Oculus Touch

With the launch of Oculus Touch less than two weeks away more and more titles are being confirmed for its launch. Oculus has stated in a recent blog posting that it'll be announcing over 50 videogames for the motion controllers soon - but some developers are already confirming their support.

It's crazy how Oculus have launch titles for a controller.
Actually.., it's kinda sad.

So nobody can play this game without the Oculus Touch?
That would kinda impact sales, no?

If you'd played Space Pirate Trainer, you'd understand it has no place on anything but a motion controller. The very essence of the game is aiming and dodging, like a 3D Geometry Wars / Super Stardust kind of game. The Oculus is definitely the least appealing headset to me personally, despite the fact that it started the whole VR movement. They've dropped the ball big time, and having no exclusive killer app in the headstart time they had with the early reveal has really harmed the brand.

Most PC enthusiasts would get a Vive, because you get more for the money you spend. With the Touch cintrollers they are simply playing catch up! This gives them a chance at competing in the high end VR space, where something like PSVR is more likely to conquer the stationary sitting / standing cheaper market.

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

Babadook71101d ago

I agree. It would sell better on PSVR2 right now.

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

Abnor_Mal1102d ago

Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.

ApocalypseShadow1102d ago

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Abnor_Mal1102d ago

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

Just watched the trailer of Low-Fi. Most definitely on my radar.
