To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

So clearly there's a bottleneck somewhere on the Pro that prevents SATA 3 interface to reach full potential. The question is, can this be fixed via a firmware update or is it a permanent hardware issue?

Yes I'm aware of the backround processes but they could suspend them during loading screens via a firmware update for example...
Still worthwhile gains imo. Load screens just eat in to precious precious game time.
But then I don't need the capacity. I typically play through one or two games at a time, and my connection is decent enough that managing limited space isn't a big deal.
