That's sort of how I am. Since it's been gone from the beginning I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I have been playing with a friend for co-op stuff and it's been a blast. Haven't had any problems.

With Steep, you can say that. From what I've seen of the alpha / beta (cough NDAs), never really saw seemless multiplayer. Had to invite people from friends list.

As for WD2, if you played the first game then you obviously knew about the feature (similar feature - you could get invaded / hacked without even noticing in the first, while now you can hunt people who are causing chaos). If you're new to the series, then it is easy to not even know about it. Either way, hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Steep (couch NDA's) watch dogs 2 (Couch NDA's). Steep is supposed to have it. I play the first ones and I always turn that crap off I didnt want people invading my game space.
