It shouldn't be because it's actually awesome. EA released it at completely the wrong time. There are very few games, if any could go toe to toe with battlefield and cod on the same release window.

Gazondaily3469d ago

Maybe Xbox exclusivity would have helped it like it did the first Titanfall *shrugs*

ninsigma3469d ago

Yeeeaaahhhh no. That makes no sense. Are you trying to suggest that being on less platforms is beneficial?? Don't be stupid.

Utalkin2me3469d ago

@Septic

So dont release it on PC and Playstation is some how going to sell more on Xbox then what it already is? Do people even think before the type anymore? I'm honestly dumb founded at peoples thought process. I get people are trying to troll. But why would you want to make yourself look so stupid all the time? *shrugs*

Gazondaily3469d ago

Microsofts marketing grunt shouldn't be underestimated

"Are you trying to suggest that being on less platforms is beneficial?"

Look at Titanfall 1

ninsigma3469d ago

So just ignore that it released with no competition vs releasing between the markets 2 biggest shooters in an over packed season??

Gazondaily3469d ago

No I'm not saying that but the fact that there's such a massive gap in sales means that the launch window was a contributory factor along with marketing.

Remember how insanely hyped titanfall 1 was? Microsoft put their full marketing grunt behind it. If it did it before it could do it again. Well even Sony could I suppose.

More like Falling lol...The reviews couldn't even save this one. I remember the uproar over part 1 being X1 exclusive and how much better it would've done going multi. Apparently that wasn't the issue either. In the end Battlefield & CoD cannibalized it.

hiawa233469d ago

I agree 100%. It was Xbox fault exclusive fault, at least this is what the haters told us, now what? I loved TF1, will be getting this for the PS4 Pro enhancements so I am buying.

Rude-ro3469d ago

A. The first titanfall never came to PS4, and yes it would have done better had it not gone exclusive.
B. It is selling worse than the original, I do not see you children saying anything about the larger install base on the Xbox one or pc that got to play the game for free and still this game is lower in sales... which leads me to..
C. There was a free demo. Not many liked it. A lot of people tried it. So not many bought it.
This "stuck between bf and cod" excuse is getting old and sounds like a marketing cry just to try and sell the game.
The stuck argument does come into play, but only because people tried it and decided to pass on it.

UltraNova3469d ago (Edited 3469d ago )

Rude,

All three games are essentially first person shooters so when all 3 get released in less than one month apart one is certainly poised to have low sales. You cannot deny that.

That said from what I've read and seen so far the game is quite good, awesome actually so maybe it has legs and when we all get a bit tired of playing Operations and COD(not for me) we might get T2, I know I will!

Rude-ro3469d ago

@UltraNova
Your point is missing the other half...
They rushed out the "tech demo" in hopes to take away from the cod players.
Millions of people downloaded it and tried it. Fans of the first bashed it, other people shrugged and said it is cod with mechs...
My point is, it sold worse than the first. This has nothing to do with cod and battlefield other than consumers chose smoothing different because the tech demo was a dud.

One of the best FPS single player campaigns I've played in years. Although a little short, it was a blast.

MilkMan3469d ago

Man! I really hope this is an incentive and not an indication of sales because if there was any game that deserved a full life, it was this one.

Gazondaily3469d ago

Agreed. It blows wank shooters like cod out of the water

MetroidFREAK213469d ago

The game is worth it at this point. It's worth it at the full $60 as well... My favorite shooter of the year! So much fun

I agree with this. The time travel mechanics. The sense of scale. The relationship with your mech. The bosses all had personalities. It's a wonderful game.

mastershredder738d ago

Yeah it was good, but it only did the time travel bit in one level. Dishonered 2 did the same thing. Now how about a game where it's implemented throughout the gameplay? Singularity says Hello (and deserves so much more recognition).

Never say never, I really didn't expect to ever see Space Marine 2 and 12 years later its almost here.
So there is still hope for all these games.

Chocoburger825d ago

I've completed 5 of the games on the list, but the author forgot to include Advent Rising. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but it bombed hard, and the two sequels never got made. It was Mass Effect, a console generation before Mass Effect.

The game is buggy and unpolished, it needed a few more months of development, but the potential was there. At the end of the game, you have all these super abilities, I remember the stomp attack that created a shockwave being especially powerful.

shinoff2183825d ago

I personally think days gone will recieve some sort of sequel at some point. I'm personally also hoping it's not the rumored multiplayer online stuff. I'd think most that enjoyed it would rather thisnto.

Knightofelemia825d ago

Sony needs to dust off Sly Cooper and Days Gone so needs a sequel two of my favorite Sony titles. Bulletstorm I love great game wish it also got a sequel. And I wish Namco would finally give Enslaved a sequel another great game.

A best all time mecha game list without Zone of the Enders even on the list is 100% crap to me. Worth saying twice though not intentional
