This game should've had a campaign smh. It's a really good game, just done WRONG. smh.

Utalkin2me3481d ago

I totally disagree. I think they fully focused on multiplayer and did a fantastic job with it, truly a overlooked game. Not everything needs a single player campaign to it.

Overwatch is another game that truly shines with multiplayer cause they made it the main focus and didn't add single player.

Revvin3481d ago

Couldn't agree more, they channelled the online competitiveness of Counter-strike and blended it with the more realistic style of the Rainbow Six series. Its a great game that is sadly overlooked by too many players and didn't enjoy the same kind of media hype as the underperforming Call of Duty series. Its been well supported by Ubisoft.

C-H-E-F3481d ago (Edited 3481d ago )

True, but not every game need to be Multiplayer only either, especially games that originally started with Single Player at a core. People like myself that have been buying this game since it's first inception are just left out of the sauce. Multiplayer / online is cool and all, but it's really overclouding the story telling of games all because lonely people want to talk to others on a mic. SMH.

edit: as I said it's a good game, but done wrong meaning the essence of rainbow six was lost in this title to focus and battle with battlefield and COD.

Utalkin2me3481d ago (Edited 3481d ago )

@C-H-E-F

Rainbow Six has always been multiplayer focused first. Even in the late 90's they was still multiplayer focused. I remember we used to lan together when those games came out and play all night long doing co-op. Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear. I remember how the enemies guns used to stick out the door before you opened it, so you knew they was there, lol. The good ol days.

Again if something is done as well as Siege it doesn't need single player. The you're just left out of the sauce. Why should they always cater to you and your needs? You cant please everyone. Its about making a good product and having people enjoy what they made. And siege has done that 10 fold.

P.S. If you think this game is anything like BF or COD, then obviously you haven't played it.

Kurt Russell3481d ago (Edited 3481d ago )

Agreed, this game has is one of my most played multiplayers of all time. Nothing compares to clutching a round as the last man in your squad. The map design (apart from Brazil) is second to none - and the support it has had this year is testament to how other games should handle their content and IP.

PumPum3481d ago (Edited 3481d ago )

Rogue Spear was never multiplayer first. It had a solid SP with cut-scenes, and planning being a big part of the SP experience. It even only had 1 true MP map and the rest was re-used from the single player. Even getting the multiplayer to work with a 56K modem and gamespy was really difficult.
Ah i wish the Rainbow Six would have stayed as it was. RS:RS was a fantastic game.

Edit: Siege is really well made and fun. Great looks and amazing sound. But does seem to lack content for the price they are asking for it.

C-H-E-F3481d ago (Edited 3481d ago )

@Utalkin2me

1) I didn't compare it to BF or COD saying they were similar I said they were trying to battle BF and COD and made a MP only game. When in fact "Patriots" as it was called before had a single player campaign before being scrapped to focus on the BF and COD demographic...

2) I played both games as you said and Rogue Spear was actually single player driven and the multiplayer was pretty crappy. Running on a 56k modem that was a horrible experience.

3) Rainbow Six was created from the box, so how the hell are you going to say it was multiplayer driven? LMAO in case you didn't know books have a story that you read in them on paper that has text on them, much like this forum but in paper form. lOl. Rainbow Six was ALWAYS single player driven with multiplayer content.

4) Catering to me? uhm Single Player is the very essence of gaming without story telling these multiplayer only games you play now wouldn't exist because the foundation of those games came from single player driven ones. You have the world upside down my friend. Catering to YOU is the issue, multiplayer everything. The moment God Of War added multiplayer I knew there was just too many lonely teenagers and adults at home with two options. the bottle of lotion on the night stand or talking big and bad on the mic because you know you can't get punched in the mouth.

5) please state something that makes sense, you're better off using MAG as an example than rainbow six because you have no merit here speaking that it was always multiplayer first lOl. No sir, go away with that crap.

ONCE AGAIN, let me reiterate that the game isn't bad, it's just missing it's core and TRUE FANS of the series know that and recognize it.

Who's playing Overwatch, besides the PC fanboys.

S-Word3481d ago

It had a campaign mode when it was called Rainbow 6: Patriots but they canceled it and took the leftovers to make this game which is why I'll never buy this.

BEASELY3481d ago

Your loss. You "campaign or bust," guys kill me. You miss out on the best multiplayers of all time like this and Overwatch, but engage in ok MP's like BF1 just because it has an ok campaign.

C-H-E-F3481d ago

@BEASLEY

Same can be said vice versa yall believe multiplayer is all that matters lmao which is dumb af i dont need to pay 60 bucks to yell at my tv about a camper LMAO...

I prefer a great story n great MP like TLOU for example.

MilkMan3481d ago

Agreed, the multipleplayer is great, and I love terrorist hunt, But the game feels hollow. I can't rightly ask my friends to put down any money on a multiplayer only game. It's just not worth it unless you're addicted to competitive games. Then mileage varies.

sullynathan3481d ago

shoulda woulda coulda. Were here now with one of the best multiplayer games on the market, deal with it.

oof463481d ago

It still has a consistent number of players online. I think it was done right.

mad-dog3481d ago

Great. Give the T-Hunt some more love and PLEASE give it a Pro Patch.

BEASELY3481d ago

Pro should make T-Hunt 60 frames. Right now, it's a blurry mess.

Kornholic3481d ago

Go to the options and under video settings turn off the vsync. That should give you 60 fps on Terrorist Hunt and Situations.

AtariFanboy3481d ago (Edited 3481d ago )

This game is criminally underrated. Glad it's getting continued support.

sandman2243481d ago

Ps4 pro update would be great!

Rainbow Six Siege Community in an Uproar Over Ubisoft Visual Changes to the Game

While the majority of video games are marketed to the audiences in the west, the market in Asia is big (and Asia isn’t only Japan), and it even reaches massive status when you factor in China. Ubisoft has announced a list of changes it’s making to Rainbow Six Siege’s aesthetics since it plans to expand to Asian territories.

excaliburps2762d ago

Is the community overreacting or is Ubisoft being an ass here? O_o

GortJester2762d ago

I think Ubisoft is being dumb tbh. One mans opinion but the removal of blood etc is just really odd for a mature shooting game with already M Rating

Skull5212762d ago

Taking blood out means I'm done with this game. Sorry Ubisoft but that is how it is. I liked Rainbow Six for what it is, not what for what the Asian market will allow. Big mistake.

sevilha822761d ago

dude it´s soo stupid ,i loved the blood splaters and the way the looked on walls and the floor,it maked the game so much cooler,f#&k this over-political correct trend bullsh#$t,i grew up with Duke Nukem and Doom,it´s just freaking pixels .

kevinsheeks2762d ago (Edited 2762d ago )

This time the community is more in the right, ubisoft is changing aspects of the game globally to cater to a segment of the market, it's basically taking a dump on anyone who already purchased. And from my understanding the players will be split from the global community regardless so they didn't have to do this at all they could have just did it for those playing in that region .. ionno it's a big mess, I do think the lack of blood is going to be goofy as hell lol shooting someone in the head is perfectly fine but blood being shown is a no-no lol

they might as well just have rainbows come out when you kill someone lol

senorfartcushion2761d ago

I've never seen a game get away with so much.

The season system was already a nasty way of knobbing fans over, but essentially turning the game into a mobile game to appease Chinese companies? Madness.

rainslacker2762d ago

Forget reason. The community is in an uproar. That makes me more ruckused than the ruckus than the RDR2 2nd CD fiasco earlier this week, and even more than the COD community being unhappy about BO4 weapon variants.

All these things to be upset about, all this week. 2 of them from mp1st.com.

Maybe N4G mods can make a new rule that articles about some people in a community somewhere being upset isn't really a story. I mean, if these journalists and what they do aren't news, then I don't see how random forum goers opinions are news. We already talk about this stuff, and it just causes stupid discussion on the topic at hand. If the writers want to discuss the topic, at least bring their own take on the subject through an opinion piece.

mogwaii2762d ago

Lol, Wtf? "ruckused" is not a word.

senorfartcushion2761d ago

As much as journalists hate these pieces, uproar from fans shows the lack of care being shown by companies and where gaming is in 2018.

This is the objectivist era.

rainslacker2761d ago

@mogp

It's just something from an article earlier this week. This is the third story about how fans in some community are upset about something, based on nothing more than some normal internet post being upset about something.

@senior

In this case, I think there is a better story here than what the fans think. Rather, instead of focusing on what the fans are upset about, report the story itself, which is the visual changes to the game. Within that story, you cite how it's upset fans.

This is what actual journalism does, instead of making hit pieces which focus on people being upset. Inform. Don't breed a bandwagon culture by making it seem like this is something that would upset everyone.

Sophisticated_Chap2762d ago

Not good. I won't be supporting game companies that cater to communist regimes.

Uglyday2762d ago

So essentially none considering SJWs are communists.

senorfartcushion2761d ago

SJWs are actually scared of being ruined/killed by corrupt politicians that promote some of the world's nastiest crimes such as racism, sexism etc.

In fact, the terms was coined in order to describe the superheroes of DC comics.

Yeah, a lot of themngo overboard, and they can't take a joke, but it comes from fear and we should all sympathise with that just a little bit.

Atticus_finch2761d ago

@ugly .01/10 for lazy trolling

rainslacker2762d ago

Now Now....control your furor. All this ballyhoo and commotion is really no reason to be disturbed over it.

Downroar. It's good for the soul.

Shikoku2762d ago

So they are pandering to Communist china and Muslim countries......great.

Anything to chase after the almighty dollar. Kinda ironic in a sense

Rainbow Six Siege players want forgiveness for teamkilling

Ubisoft has been silent on the request from players since the game’s release.

NovusTerminus2793d ago (Edited 2793d ago )

I think its fine. I have 700 hours on PC and only play ranked, only been kicked out of maybe 3 games due to accidental team killings. And then it's a 15 minute ban.

Issue is, how do you fix it? Remove team killing? That would not work because watching your shots helps add to the tension and strategy of the game.

Also by removing the ban then you run in to the issue of team killers running rampant and just forcing everyone down to Copper 4.

Edit: forgot they changed the ban system. As one not gotten a TK. But those ban timers reset after a while so you shouldn't see more then 30 minutes ever, if you even see thst.

Skull5212792d ago

There should be some obvious team killing punishment. If you're still setting up on defense it should auto ban. If you haven't moved beyond 20 meters of spawning as offense, auto ban.

NovusTerminus2792d ago

Try to shoot a camera at spawn, instaban.
Try to shoot a drone, or open a wall up, instaban.

The TKing aspect on PC is not that bad, very rarely do I run into problems, that being said from what I hear the console versions have a rampant issue with it.

calle792792d ago

How about realy punishing those who teamkill. It doesnt happen to often but very anoying when u get in a game With those asshats that kils u right in the begining of a round. Im sure those fuckers does this often and should realy be punished or banned!

A hour or so punishment is nothing. Im sure those guys does it right before they log of and the punishment means nothing then. And if u acidentaly kill someone and they also se it after in the killcam, why WHY do they kill u in the NeXT round?! Nice way to loose a match for the entire team...

GameBoyColor2792d ago

On pc i never really had a problem with tkers, but on ps4 i run into them like every other game, whether it be on my team or the enemy team. it's annoying and should really be punished more severely on console

calle792791d ago

I agree! Not as much a problem on PC but i only play on PS4 now. Permaban!
