Does COD:Infinite Warfare’s Release To Positive Critical Response Finally Prove Doubters Wrong?

PressA2Join writes "It’s November 4th, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare finally launches worldwide across multiple platforms and to be honest, it was never going to receive an overly poor response from video game critics now was it? Infinity Ward simply do not make bad video games, they merely made a bad choice in setting in the eyes of fans. Whilst EA DICE’s World War 1 epic Battlefield 1 proved to a great move for the series and the studio alike, fans of the COD franchise were still frustrated, still not in favour of the route Infinity Ward had taken with their beloved shooter, but after a successful multiplayer beta this past October, were those fans finally beginning to warm to the idea of war in space?"

Ive yet to see anything positive about this game.

TankCrossing3486d ago (Edited 3486d ago )

Every COD game releases to positive critical reception. And every one of them (since the Infinity Ward fallout) has been bad.

-Foxtrot3486d ago

Because a lot of sites and journalists are so far up Activisions ass that's why

iTechHeads3486d ago

It's got an overall rating of 81 on Metacritic. That's overall positive. Or you can be a troll and focus on the one review which gave it a 50. Your choice.

Benoski3486d ago

Fairly certain that Activision paid critics to give it good scores.

Ricegum3486d ago

Wow. Because they don't agree with your opinion right?

What is wrong with people.

iTechHeads3486d ago

someone forgot to take their crazy pills today.....

Eonjay3486d ago

No of course not. These haters don't take facts, reason, critical analysis.
They are committed to hating something they have never played because that is what they have been programmed to do. I didn't even know it was so easy to program people like that.

NoFanboyJustLovGames3486d ago

game great so far to me, man the hate is real, why cant we just accept the game is better then we thought it would be

oof463486d ago

It currently has a Metacritic of 81. The highest score is 100 and the lowest is 50. I haven't been following CoD for a long time. Is that on par with the last couple of games?

Aenea3486d ago

Ghosts: 78
Advanced Warfare: 83
Black Ops 3: 81

So yeah, seems to be about the same as previous years...

oof463486d ago (Edited 3486d ago )

Ghosts...ouch.

I think the writer is being a bit of a sunshine pumper. "Successful" multiplayer beta? I saw a lot of valid hate on youtube (valid meaning problems with the game, not just spewing hate). Not receive an overly poor response? 12 of the 35 reviews posted scored the game 75/100 or lower.

I think the numbers sold will still be high. But I don't think they'll be record breaking.

PSN_ZeroOnyx3484d ago

I had one complaint with beta. I wrote to IW on FB about it. Iwent to bed and went to work (3rd shift). Got on the next day to find an in game update downloading. My one issue fixed.

My issue was on the the second weekend bc the tactical blackhole dispenser would not allow me to throw it

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio22d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing22d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9222d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit22d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing22d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9222d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
