Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "The times, they are-a changing. It’s a saying almost as old as time itself but it’s relevance never seems to wane. Just as soon as something becomes established and routine it’s changed and what was commonplace becomes a thing of the past. And so it seems that one of gaming’s most consistent elements is going the way of the dodo bird or New Coke and becoming a relic of the past. I am of course referring to the console generation, that 5-6 year cycle where at each interval we are greeted to new hardware and new experiences is soon to be no more and each of the major hardware players in the industry seem to be handling this shift differently. This editorial will look at how Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, PC games and even Mobile games have all seemingly banded together to erase the ‘console generation’ from our vocabulary."

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

All available May 5.
I think the only game here for me is Nine Sols. Was always interested in that game.
Good month for me, I wanted that particular footy game and thought it might be due. Anyway who cares, shame about the site I'll miss the comment sections. All the best everyone.
Isn't the release of Switch the beginning of the 9th gen
I've said it before and I will say it again. Pro and Scorpio will probably turn into the lower end models of whatever comes next. Microsoft and Sony will release new flagship models and new games will probably work on Pro and Scorpio, a few years later they'll release more powerful versions and drop compatibility on Pro and Scorpio.
Nope. Unless the big 3 truly adopt the smart phone way of things and turn out a super console every 2 years, which would suck, in my opinion.
I just see exclusives coming with each new iteration just to have us buy it. The point of the console was to buy one and you're set for 4-6 years, not buy two or three $400 consoles to be able to play what you want. It's a game console, not a cell phone.
Nope....
Does the writer of this article look slightly odd or even weird.
