Titanfall 2 Struggles: Is EA To Blame?

GameRaven writes:

''In news that doesn’t really come as much of a surprise, Titanfall 2 has failed to beat it’s predecessor’s sales numbers, at least in the UK. Titanfall 2 has sneaked out into the market, with little to no marketing in the UK. If it wasn’t for a few adverts prior to YouTube videos, the game’s … Continue reading Titanfall 2 Struggles: Is EA To Blame?''

I'll always think it was a bad idea for EA to release Titanfall 2 so close to Battlefield 1

ShadowKnight3488d ago (Edited 3487d ago )

And COD even though I hate that game and Activision. COD is going to sell well regardless.

zeal0us3487d ago

This is why EA should move the game to Q1 2017, added more modes and customization to MP and increase the length of the SP.

lunatic00013487d ago

No doubt...bf1 was always going to be safe as it has its following that will make it successful...tf2 is the one that will suffer as it's more comparable to cod which will crush tf2 unfortunately...tf2 would have been better as a winter break game or summer game which is always dead when it comes to big releases so it would have stand out

DarthZoolu3487d ago (Edited 3487d ago )

It's possible people just didn't like what they played in beta. I have 10 buddies I play X1 with and we all loved the first Titanfall. We all got together and played the T2 beta and all hated it. None of us got it. We all had over 200 hours on the original. 2 got the new battlefield. I didn't like it either. I wish they would remaster Battlefield 3 or Bad Company 2

PixelGateUk3488d ago

and Skyrim too. It's such a busy window, releasing with no marketing is kinda odd

_-EDMIX-_3487d ago

Lol using all your guys logic this game might as well never release...

FinalFantasyFanatic3487d ago

@_-EDMIX-_

They're right though, it's after the same market share as Cod and Battlefield, so not so good timing on EA's part.

Utalkin2me3487d ago

I agree with EDMIX. I know some people wont admit it. But what turned some gamers off was the beta. After me and my friends played the beta, we decided it was not worth a purchase.

EA is to blame. looks like an awesome game with no marketing

UltraNova3487d ago

It is an awesome game. It should have been delayed to early 2017. Break the AAA shooter mold and have a fighting chance. Now its just been crushed by Titans, excuse the pan.

DJ3487d ago

Have you not seen the awesome live action commercial?? It's glorious and really funny

Si2k783487d ago

Poor Respawn, they deserve better than this half baked ad campaign EA has put forward. I don't remember seeing a single ad, or if I have, it wasn't memorable at all.

Sciurus_vulgaris3487d ago

EA very likely does not want to invest much into Titanfall, since they don't own the IP. Apparently one of the reasons why Titanfall 1 was Xbox and PC only was because EA refused to fully fund and advertise the game. Hopefully Respawn can find another partner in the future.

Rimeskeem3487d ago

I can imagine Sony investing in Respawn. It's not like Titanfall 2 is a bad game. It just launched at a terrible time.

DJ3487d ago

No, it's because Microsoft wanted an exclusive shooter for the launch of Xbox One.

I agree with this. The time travel mechanics. The sense of scale. The relationship with your mech. The bosses all had personalities. It's a wonderful game.

mastershredder742d ago

Yeah it was good, but it only did the time travel bit in one level. Dishonered 2 did the same thing. Now how about a game where it's implemented throughout the gameplay? Singularity says Hello (and deserves so much more recognition).

Never say never, I really didn't expect to ever see Space Marine 2 and 12 years later its almost here.
So there is still hope for all these games.

Chocoburger829d ago

I've completed 5 of the games on the list, but the author forgot to include Advent Rising. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but it bombed hard, and the two sequels never got made. It was Mass Effect, a console generation before Mass Effect.

The game is buggy and unpolished, it needed a few more months of development, but the potential was there. At the end of the game, you have all these super abilities, I remember the stomp attack that created a shockwave being especially powerful.

shinoff2183829d ago

I personally think days gone will recieve some sort of sequel at some point. I'm personally also hoping it's not the rumored multiplayer online stuff. I'd think most that enjoyed it would rather thisnto.

Knightofelemia829d ago

Sony needs to dust off Sly Cooper and Days Gone so needs a sequel two of my favorite Sony titles. Bulletstorm I love great game wish it also got a sequel. And I wish Namco would finally give Enslaved a sequel another great game.
