I'm glad to see Fifa 09 on the US store, means now I don't have to wait for them to get it up on the EU one when they sort of their problem with the updating of content.

And I must say that I am far from impressed. I know that demos arent the full version but let me just say that I had a blast playing Pure, and this Motorstorm 2 is nowhere near as fun as Pure is, and this is coming from a Sony fanboy. Also, Pure is way more polished.

Well lets see. Bad graphics,, slow boggy movement and sense of speed. Let me see, what else? Um, oh yeah,, fun factor,, this game is BORING. I think Motorstorm part one was better,, graphically this game looks worse then part one. Crazy man.

Also from the videos i've seen; whats with the fire effects? It's like a round red/yellow ball that sits on the car... They could of came up with a better fire effect when the cars lit up!... o_O

Also, Ive been sitting here playing it, and I did pass judgment on it too soon. It is fun. I just got really spoiled playing Pure. Thing is that Pure is way prettier. Motorstorm is more grittier. There is alot of screen tearing in the demo. Like I was getting alot of overlapped environments when I wrecked. The sense of speed is alot better when your using the dirtbike, but you are a open target to anyone who feels like taking you down. Its not a bad game at all and I apologize for making those remarks before I tried it a couple of times.

Fact is that I used to be into offroad games a long time ago, then they were pretty much just all the same. Mx vs. Atv was decent, but the online on the ps3 was pure crap with no voice chat. I thought I finally gave up on off road games till I played Pure. I fell in love with that game half way through my first lap of the main race. So finally I have alot of interest in what I thought was a dead genre thanks to Pure.

The reason why I stated all that is because I dont want anyone to think that I just dont like the genre. Which I do now since Ive got these demos for me to try. Now back to Motorstorm. You cant compare Motorstorm 2 to Pure. They are both totally different experiences. Thing with Motorstorm is mostly about trying to stay alive and finish the race, as to where Pure is all about stunts and air time and finishing the race. Man what can I say? Both games are day 1 purchases for me. I never though I would say this but I think the off road racing genre is close to being my favorite genre. If only I can get my friends to play these games with me then it would be even better.

playing Motorstorm 2... Freaking awesome!! Tried all three vehicles several times to get the feel of them as well as the course. By far the bike is the funnest out of the 3 (IMO). VERY FAST feeling on the bike, going ba*ls out feels great as well as the taunts you can do. Monster truck was alright, you have to think ahead when cornering, but running over people is satisfying. The game definately got my heart pumping with dirt, cars, debri, and Ministry playing in the background. Can't wait to see what the final build looks like.. Graphics.. Definately alot better then Motorstorm 1, lighting is great, and the shadows don't have the jaggies like MS1 had. Controls... tighter controls and handling feel a step above MS1, feels intuitive. They added ram buttons (L1 to ram left & R1 to ram right)adds to the brutality of the race. Definately a must buy!! (IMHO)

Can you really punch people when driving the motorcycle when using R1 and L1. I no longer need a new Road Rash

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
