I'm perfectly fine with my 3DS XL. Never felt the need to buy a New 3DS.

I was perfectly fine with my DS Lite. Never felt the need to buy a DSi.

I'm perfectly fine with my PS4. I don't feel the need to buy a PS4 Pro.

Chances are, I will be perfectly fine with my day one Switch and won't feel the need to buy a Switch Lite or whatever may come out later.

Nintendo have always had a five year cycle with pretty much everything they do. Its no great secret. it was Sony and MS dragging their heels that slowed it all down

But if we look at Nintendos history - They don't revamp home consoles. They just last a set period of time before they move on. If you don't buy the switch... guess what? you wont get a switch, and intendo wont make a new version of it. They'll just move onto something else entirely.

Now i don't know about you, but I think the switch is worth putting the cash down for on day one. It's not like the PS pro that is merely a minor upgrade. Its a new console.

I liked the article, a bit of satire with some nuggets of truth. There will most likely be a Switch Lite in a year or two, but there's nothing wrong with being an early adopter. If the price is right, I'll be there day one.

you could say the same thing about literally every game console and game release since the beginning. Patience is nearly always rewarded in the way you are describing. Did you write an article about Sony or MS saying not to buy and wait for the slim versions? I highly doubt it. If you can wait, then good for you. if not, then also good for you.
