The million-dollar question is, will Red Dead Redemption 2 that stirred up the whole internet be compatible with the equally sensational Nintendo Switch?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

With Rockstar being one of the big developers, and Red Dead Redemption 2 being such a high profile game right now, it's no wonder a lot of gamers want this. Hell, Red Dead on the go would be pretty cool, no doubt. If the Big N gets this title, it would certainly give a lot of us a bit more faith in their support. I'm definitely on the fence on whether it does or doesn't, but I'm going to be optimistic and say there's a small chance.
Possibly, but 2018 at the earliest
Simple answer it depends on how much market share the switch can demand when it releases.
It's pointless to develop for a console if there's no install base and 2k games which funds rockstar games call the shots on platforms. 2k isn't a big studio like ea or Activision they can't afford to waste time and money with no garuntee on return.
So hopefully the switch does well enough to warrant a port however also red dead 2 had been in development for at least 5 years long before rockstar even knew the specs of the switch or had developed kits. It's not a game churned out in a year or two.
Lol that sounds rather unlikely especially considering Rockstar is gun shy from even putting some of their franchises on PC.
