Well, except the occasional small indie game like Ori. They just seem not to have what it takes.

Maybe you need to perhaps be fair in your comparisons first. This article is one talking about bad sales, so the topic on conversation should be expected to be negative, no matter who is commenting. The article you posted on The Order is a post mortem and talks about the potential future of the series, which is a positive thing. So it's not "equally as bad" when you consider the conversation it should naturally inspire. Who cares who commented unless you are easily triggered?

Give it time and gangsta_red, moldybread and sammarshall102 will be on that article spreading the concern et al. If they hadn't been rightfully banned from N4G, Rookie_Monster and magiciandude would also have been there. Who actually cares that people are being honest about the game, whoever they are?

If you are triggered by people saying the truth about a game, then the ball is in your court.

54000 sales approximately on steam/pc and no idea about Windows Store as Microsoft doesn't release sales numbers anymore especially when they can't spin bad numbers.

Seems like an ok game but it's never gonna sell on pc when it's locked away in the windows store vault for months at a time till it comes to steam and the wider pc community.

Recently got to play it & optimisation is still terrible despite the delay on it coming to Steam & the apparent benefit of DX11 & Nvidia. Only game I've played that runs poorly on my new 1060 oc'd @2.2gz & I still average below 30fps at 1080p.

The games actually ok which is a shame because it runs so poorly.

I loved this game on XB1. A truly unique and Awesome looking game.

Quantum Break was a high profile title for MS, who were likely looking to emulate the success of similar third person action adventure games. They had a top quality studio developing it, and it was to have a unique selling point with the live action episodes. Expectations were high, especially amongst the Xbox console owners, but unfortunately the sales didn't match the hype.
Microsoft could revisit the IP, though it is a big risk to develop a sequel for a title that performed so poorly with their audience.

maybe they should port sunset overdrive to steam, it has better chance than this game.

Unfortunately they never seem to make exciting, inspirational games that have a clear marketing message... If Alan wake had been set in a post apocalyptic zombie/giant rat setting, more people would have bought it. They are a talented studio just let down by fairly boring concepts...

Well the game seem to be reviewed well and I'm sure it will pick up when the game hit Steam sales just like Alan Wake.

Now here's my peeve, this game is a new IP and I have yet to find to find perfect new IP game so perhaps a little slack please!

And yes MS seem to have trouble hitting one out of the park with new IP (excluding Titanfall) but by all means can we name Sony's successful great new ideas? (I said ideas just before someone mentioned the Darksoul Lite huh sorry Bloodborne game).

After playing 112 minutes, asked for a steam refund (my first one actually) and bought Doom instead.

The game was surprisingly awesome imo.

The game is getting loads of great reviews from Steam users who own the game. Going to buy it myself soon. It looks great but there is just to many games to chose from...

How not to launch your game on PC, as defined by Microsoft:

Make it only work on your latest OS which a lot of people don't have, and many don't like.
Make it only available online in one place, which has a bad reputation, and everybody thought sucks.
Sell it on your store for the same price as the $60 console version when it should always be less.
Rush it out for the sole purpose of pushing the OS, promoting said crappy store and new crossplay idea.
Make it the crappiest performing port possible, with limited options and obvious neglect in favour of your console version.

Then after everyone confirms it sucks and all the interest in the game has gone a few months later, say it doesn't have to be on your crappy store after all and it doesn't need your newest OS, release it on steam and tell as few people as possible because the marketing budget is gone from the previous launch 6 months before.

Then be surprised it didn't sell.

Gameplay is fun. Definitely worth playing but I would recommend waiting for a sale since there isn't really any replay value.

Off topic-You know what I recently found that you can't play any of the MS cross buy titles offline I was very surprised about that when my connection kicked out and I was going to play and it forced closed on me kind of pissed me off. But any way I hope they don't implement it in all of there games .

Give Quantum break please, and give us Alan Wake 2. Thank you.

Game was great, but it wasn't terrible either. It was average, but still worth a playthrough. It's disappointing that the game didn't sell a lot more units. I thought the marketing was good. I'm still playing Alan Wake now since it's B/C. It's a decent game. Microsoft should just keep all their games off of Steam. If no one is going to buy them, why bother putting them on Steam. I think Scalebound will sell a lot better then Quantum Break.

Such shame... the game starts out bad, but a couple of hours in it turns into a really fantastic game. It's due to the powers you get further on, and the story. In the beginning you feel like you are not in control, and I feel it was an intentional (if not necessarily wise) decision. I bought it the day it came out on Windows 10, gave up on it after an hour. Then played through it a few months ago and got through the bad beginning.

Really feel it deserved better. It got me emotional and invested in the story.

Bring it to the PS4

Alan Wake was the last game I played on a Microsoft console that I loved.

Hope this doesn't scare Microsoft from porting a possible steam version of Scalebound and Recore. I think part of the problem with the low sales for Quantum Break is 1) the windows 10 port had terrible performance and 2) It released much later when the hype died down. I bet many people probably didn't even know it hit steam.

Wasnt too impressed with the game. Its singleplayer only with a short campaign, most PC users pirate that stuff anyway.

Excuses won't help this game to sell better. It was a bad game with poor commercial success. There is no spin to it.

what a bunch of Scum bags it goes from Xbox One exclusive to windows 10 exclusive to anybody with a PC can buy it.I don't know why people aren't sewing Microsoft and they should be forced to Dub over the commercial saying 99 exclusives like how they do for swear words on regular TV.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
