Are console wars actually good for gaming? Absolutely, they are! Let’s remember one thing: console wars are not a bad thing and they have been going on for a very long time. Remember back when Nintendo and Sega were in a fight for gaming dominance? Those were great times, Sega did what Ninten-DONT.

In 2020 the sheer number of game streaming subscriptions makes you wonder where you should focus your energy and money. Are you are looking for a streaming subscription to satisfy your gaming needs? Well, we put together a table overview for you to peruse and possibly see which ones you might prefer, or see why some of these are now redundant services.
Sony just needs to up its resolution and framerate and it'll be quite the service, still don't like streaming though so doesn't really matter to me.
The only game streaming services are PS Now, Stadia and GeForce Now.
Xbox Game pass, Uplay plus and Origin aren’t streaming.

A 24-year-old inhabitant of Poland has received nearly 9 thousand charges of illegal distribution of games. His idea was to buy digital versions of the games and then resell access to the account to many people. Losses he caused were valued at nearly $260,000. He pleaded guilty to all charges.

This week on the Game Deflators #podcast, John and Ryan discuss the loss of Nintendo Exclusives, Pokemon, and TemTem. Also in the gaming world, we can't forget about the Xbox and PlayStation. Microsoft is re-hiring a a marketing exec of the Xbox 360 days and the PlayStation continues to proove why it will be a force to be reckoned with this next console generation.
To round off this episode the duo tilt their Game Boys and play some Pokemon Pinball. This classic game came out in 1999 to relatively good reviews. Does it still hold up for gamers?
I don't know much about empty death threats from fans that get tossed about but at the very least it bred competition. It pushes developers to strive for quality which is always good for a growing industry. Wish this went into a bit more detail. its basically just 3 paragraphs.
No. Under current conditions where its become about pushing hardware limits rather than getting the most out of it, frame rates and resolution rather than content, this new phase of the console war isn't doing anything but burying the industry.
Consoles were never going to catch up to PCs, are never going to outright be PCs yet "everyone", as in the vocal internet crowd, wants there to be no difference between platforms including PCs and there are just too many examples of that never happening.
Consoles aren't PCs, Kinect crippled Xbox One, the Scorpio and PS4pro are 1.5 versions of their predecessors, and Nintendo wont catch up with the NX cause they have never chased the tech dragon.
No lol. Fanboys on websites bitching at each other literally does nothing whatsoever. Sure it's entertaining to fuck with people who take this shit seriously but it's not "helping" anything. The only "war" that matters is the battle of sales. You don't need to "win" in sales you just need to be a healthy competitor. Monopolies are garbage, they end up a disaster 100% of the time. You need companies keeping each other honest, that's what is helpful.
I'd say there's a large difference in intensity between back then and now.
Back then, it was moreso the companies taking pot shots each other, and the fans just following suite, but there were still plenty of multi-console owners.
Now, though, it's almost the exact opposite; the console makers have become passive-aggressive, at worst, and almos entirely buddy-buddy at best despite rivalries, whereas the fans from each one have turned the wars into something resembling not so much a battlefield, but rather a toxic cess pit of death threats, bullying, antagonism, and elitism.
Much of it, from what I have observed since the end of the Gamecube era, or maybe even earlier, stems from people who, due to various reasons, only ever chose one particular home console, out of the three, at a time, and took to disdaining any choice they did not make, in system, as a sort of self-gratification and justification, telling themselves that anyone who picked what they did not was being an idiot who was missing out on "the best choice."
This, I believe, is a huge factor towards our community becoming far more divided and toxic than it should ever have become.
I understand that gaming is an expensive hobby, and that a lot of people would really just love to have every single game on the market come to their system of choice, to avoid having to pay more.
Trust me, as someone relatively poor, I know better than anyone how hard it is to upkeep this hobby, and have privately shared that same desire once or twice.
However.
I do not use my poor circumstances, nor my limited time due to work, as an excuse.
Back logs exist for a reason, and I can prioritize certain games to play first, while still building a back log of games across two or more systems, to make the best use of my limited gaming time.
So I do not use my hours per day as an excuse.
Barring any loss in pay or increase in necessary life expenditures (such as becoming a parent), so long as my job allowed me to purchase one system, it is strong enough financially to allow me to save up for a second, or even third system.
Even if that means holding off on immediately buying some of the many dozens of games I want as a part of my back log, I can still make saving up for a new console work.
So I do not use my finances as an excuse.
My money goes towards the consoles that these games call home, because it supports the devs that make the games I love in a bigger way than just software alone.
Sure, there are things I don't like about ALL of the consoles, but I never allow that to make me hate on the games of each system, and even if it is only for single player games, I would love to own every console available.
In my mind, the only way I would be missing out, is if I ever settled for one option.
I do not use time or money as an excuse.
I do not use console wars as an excuse.
I game on as much as I can.
I don't miss out.
I am a multiconsole gamer.
No. It's not period.
