Which PlayStation VR Launch Games Should You Buy?

Push Square: "PlayStation VR has a gigantic launch lineup, and you're probably wondering which titles to buy right about now. While we still haven't sampled everything – the selection really is that big – we have played a pretty large selection, so we feel like we're pretty well placed to point you in the right direction. But which titles have caught our eye?"

Rez Infinite, Thumper, Until Dawn:Rush of Blood and Tumble are safe purchases, imo

Battle zone and Rigs seem to be good as well.

ninsigma3524d ago

Really liked battle zone on the demo disc so I'm probably gonna pick that up!

Stapleface3524d ago

Both of those for sure. Only played the demos but wanted more after playing them.

Rigs gave me some horrible nausea, and I could barely get through the tutorial. That was 2 days ago though, I will try it again tonight.

Here They Lie, BZ, Rigs, Rush of Blood, and Thumper are my must haves. We can't put any of those down here, especially Rigs and Thumper.

Also, I had forgotten about Playroom VR and that has been a good time too. Short time waster yes, but there is a Mario 64-esque platformer, mini game with one single, long level that was very creative and beautifully designed and I cannot believe Sony didn't try to make it into a full game. Some big, future Rachet and Clank type game like that would be most welcomed by our kids... and us adults! We were addicted to that one for awhile. You just jump around looking for other little bots. So simple yet solid. Mario rip off or not, it was very fun. Sort of how I feel about the arguing over Tomb Raider ripping off Uncharted and vice versa. Who cares as long as we get more quality additions to the genre dammit! Let the price gouging copyright lawyers worry about who rips off who.

Hopefully PS VR brings more platforming and other story driven genres, but for now, it's been a solid launch and great time.

Really suprised by Thumper, great game.

Also having a lot of fun with my lad on the free Playroom VR.

Scared the crap of of my wife with Shark Decent in VR Worlds.

Biggest letdown by far has been Driveclub, awful graphics ruin a outstanding racer.

Aenea3524d ago

BattleZone! Eve Valkyrie too. Not sure yet about Rigs. Too many fun stuff already! Wish I had (even more) money to burn!

Battlezone is astonishing, I was pleasantly surprised how good the game looked and more importantly played!

Morgue3524d ago

The price points on some of these games are really good but has anyone played Here They Lie? Looks decent but I really don't want too dump $400 just for one game.

Also from some of the videos I've seen I'm not really a fan of the move sticks and floating guns. I don't know? May just pass on VR altogether for the time being.

Are a bunch of games, some of which are nearly 10 years old not one being from 2026. Barely one from 2025.

I do like the irony of the closing paragraph though, "Why VR Adventure Games are Thriving". Really buddy?

mooreneco2156d ago

That’s because it’s his favourite VR adventure games thus far, a great game always a great game regardless of age - Half life 2/ Ocarina of time - are old but still among the greatest games of all time. The irony of it is several are from last year, depending on platform, have you even played VR?
