There's simply nothing fun about it.

People saying expectations were too high are really ignoring the facts that objectively point out that all expectations were based on what Murray said would be in the game. I suppose we should go into it believing all devs are snake oil salesmen.

Wasn't it confirmed that the two people who met in NMS were on the same planet in the same place at the same time (in the real world), but one person's screen clearly showed daylight while the other showed night sky? Leading one to believe that they were in a different server, or instance? And that maybe that's what Sean had meant by probably never being able to actually meet someone else in game? And as far as Sean never giving a definitive answer about how multi-player would work, I believe Mr Murray was quoted on IGN in May, prior to its original launch date as saying something to the effect of "if you want to play a meet up and travel around a planet shooting aliens game, go play Destiny, it's a great game. That's not what we are doing." that seems pretty definitive to me. I think the bigger questions are: at what point does someone take responsibility for their perception as opposed to what was said? Can Sean and hello games say or do anything to change the majority's opinion? And does any of this really matter? I hope NMS will continue to evolve to include things like base building and multi-player, but things are looking pretty grim because no one is being vocal in their support of this game. And if we don't support it, Hello Games certainly won't continue to invest time and money into something that gamers have resoundingly stopped supporting.
