It's that time of year where FIFA and PES are going head to head for football dominance. With both games being as good as they've ever been, who comes out on top this year?

Like all great photographs, the covers of the FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer video games capture a moment in time. But which ones have been best?

Richard writes: "It would be fair to say that Martin Korda may not be the first name that springs to mind when thinking of video game writers.
However, a quick look through his credits and you will see he is responsible for such stories as The Journey on FIFA 17 and 18, Destiny: The Taken King and Fable: The Journey as well as an impressive back-catalogue. You may then start to understand why we were so keen to sit down and have a chat with him at the Yorkshire Games Festival:"

Some of the best games to play are soccer (football, for our non-American friends). When you're looking for one of the best video games for team sports, and multiplayer play, look no further than the soccer game genre. The world of soccer video games is dominated by two heavy hitters: FIFA and PES (Pro Evolution Soccer). These two game developers keep pushing each other to have better characterization, crisper graphics, and a stronger gameplay engine. As a result, the real winner is the gamer. Let's look at both and see which is best.
Lol love this war since pes launched way back... Today im going to say Pes
Also say pes, it forces you to play football :-)
I'll try Fifa 17 eventually but I'm loving PES 2017 right now. Best soccer game I've ever played for randomness and realism...by far.
PES have got Barca & the Camp Nou, yet I started my game & even into October Messi still hasn't got blonde hair or a beard & along with Suarez & Iniesta isnt even in the starting line up. If you are going to ever get near FIFA you need to at least get your licences teams done right.
Great competition. I have both but have been a big fan of the PES series. On the pitch: PES no doubt about it. Everything else: FIFA. FIFA is just so good with its presentation and reward system. The atmosphere and different gameplay options along with the slick and exciting presentation makes it a winner. I love clicking through the menus and changing things up to set up my FUT team. PES in comparison is so bland it hurts. But once I'm on the pitch, PES delivers the exhilaration and excitement. If PES had all that it lacks from FIFA then there's no competition. At this point I'd say its close and depends on preference as both are great games in their own way.
