Buried in an announcement of the stats for the Alpha of For Honor, was the news that they are dropping split screen.

Seeing splitscreen gaming going the way of the Dodo is one of the saddest things over the last several years. I remember being able to play games with my brother growing up and it would have been nice to do the same now with my kids. I know this wouldn't be the game to play with the kids, but I'm speaking of splitscreen gaming as a whole over just this one game.

Same, started coop gaming with my brother with Contra 3 on the snes and it's only gotten harder to find good couch coop or split screen games. It's sad.

seems that way...no wonder theyre taking out midgen upgrades. But those will probably be able to handle even less then current systems.

Didn't have any siblings but all my friends growing up would go to each other's houses and play together, in the same room. Seems like they just want to keep people together only online. Sucks, there is nothing like the moment being there with your friend in the same room...

The multiplayer is incredible, and there's been so much free content added since launch that makes it so much more incredible, not least of which are amazing user-made maps in multiplayer rotation.

Lack of split screen sucks, but depriving yourself of having fun with what is there doesn't make sense to me. Especially considering that there was so much backlash that they've gone on record saying it's a priority to include in Halo 6

Split screen in Halo 5 would likely run like crap,Halo: Reach and 4 struggled during split screen.

Sorry guys, convenience killed local co-op. Not having to share a screen and reduce graphic fidelity too much is a better deal. Not to mention being in your own house.

Yes online is easier and more comfortable as you are in your own house and they are in their house, but you are friends so why cant you be at one or anothers house. But if COD BO3 can have split screen, for honor can have split screen to.
This comes down to money. If we add split screen they only need 1 copy but if we take split screen out thats 2 copies sold making double what we would if split screen was involved making say brothers in the same house buy 2 copies as they cant split screen it and play together

They could have done what Splinter Cell done and reduce the graphics for split screen it would be worth it for co op in my opinion. I miss co-op in saying that where I currently live means no chance of it

Convenience? How? It's convenient for me to just hand a friend my second controller to play local co-op/split-screen. It's always more entertaining when you have your actual friends there with you, rather than just chatting over a microphone. Not to mention, split-screen games are always better at parties. These days, you need to have people lug their TV's over to one location and set up all their systems just to play multi-player. It really sucks in my opinion.

If it is part of deals with gold or ps plus then ill try.
Probably gonna be awesome anyways but I dont have as much money to spend
carelessly.

Co-op and splitscreen missing in so many games these days. It is a shame.

Awell I'm not that bothered about that I just want it for the multiplayer & campaign my friends will be to busy playing it in there own house online. Anyone know when/if the betas out? Cant wait to let all viking & samurai scum will taste the sharp end of my sword ;)
