The case for character, or, what Destiny 2 can learn from fan fiction.

PlayStation has scaled back expectations for Bungie after reassessing Destiny 2 development costs, highlighting the risks tied to live-service games.
Honestly Thank Goodness!! Yet another good sign of a possibility of returning to what made them great and undoing Jim Tyans trend chasing love service gamble. Still gotta wait and see just what direction they're going but this is a good sign in my book that they're not betting it all on live service anymore
It may take a while but maybe they are finally learning. Good! Now stop with the live service crap.
They say this and then immediately release news of the Horizons co-op game that will definitely be a Live Service game.

Patch notes for Update 9.5.0.5, the one about Equilibrium fixes and more, are now available.

A new survey shows Destiny 2 is considering adding Sparrow Racing League, unvaulted campaigns, NPC sidekicks, new PvP and Gambit modes, and much more.
There's absolutely a few reasons to separate itself. However, things like carrying over your character should be a must.
Oh yes it should, and let go everything that d1 did and remake ground up again, with better char customization
Yeah, as much as I love my character. I want Destiny 2 to be a fresh start. Make new characters, and level them all the way through.
Destiny 2 just has to make a few improvements to be huge. First, a fully fleshed out single player w/ classic cuts cents etc. Ppl will pay $. Second, some way to carry over players, even if they start from scratch, they must get something to distinguish them. Honestly, most players now want to start from scratch. And grimoire must be in game!!!
And a clear, transparent content schedule that makes use of older content at some point. It is an amazing IP that got off to a rocky start, but has righted the ship.
I think it should separate itself from what it became so it can be what it was originally meant to be.
