2016 is a fantastic year for football fans. Both FIFA 17 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 have been critically praised for their respective gameplay improvements and it’s almost shocking that there are two really great titles and more variety and options for consumers this time around. FIFA 17 really amped up the experience by offering a full fledged campaign taking you through the life of upcoming football star Alex Hunter and on other hand PES 17 bought in several improvements in the on-field mechanics such as better attacking and defense options. So this brings us to the overarching question among fans…which game looks better?

Some of the best games to play are soccer (football, for our non-American friends). When you're looking for one of the best video games for team sports, and multiplayer play, look no further than the soccer game genre. The world of soccer video games is dominated by two heavy hitters: FIFA and PES (Pro Evolution Soccer). These two game developers keep pushing each other to have better characterization, crisper graphics, and a stronger gameplay engine. As a result, the real winner is the gamer. Let's look at both and see which is best.
What about animations? Fifa17's animations are heads and shoulders above PES. Every touch of the ball is spot on. That has improved even over Fifa16. PES still slides at times. Skipping animation in favor of gameplay is the norm there. This can maybe be a negative in Fifa for fast paced play sometimes because your payers will miss if you don't get the timing right and thus makes it harder to play. Physical based play has also improved in Fifa17 with balls bouncing off more randomly. But despite the new engine Fifa17 has all the bugs of Fifa16. That's quite annoying.
