Oh yeah, that's something !

LucasRuinedChildhood3526d ago

Where are you getting that idea from?

poppinslops3526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

@Lucas: He appears to 'believe' that every upcoming game will be released on mobile platforms... earlier today, he suggested that GTA6 - sequel to the highest earning entertainment product of ALL TIME - would be a mobile exclusive.

O.T: I just got the original via GwG and I'm loving it, so this is great news... here's hoping the sequel isn't too far off, cos it seems like the years of waiting has been especially hard on folks who played the original.

Erik73573526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

It will be exclusive for NX

NX is around the corner and we NOW finally get a tease after years and years of silence? Okayyyyyyyyyy Looking at nintendo's history with reviving dead franchises with a following to them.....*cough* Bayonetta 2 *cough* *cough*

mikeslemonade3526d ago

You guys don't see the trend that there less and less AAA games. And more and more mobile and downloadable only games?

poppinslops3525d ago

@Mike: You say there are less AAA games than ever before, but that isn't actually the case - besides which, an increase in one type of game doesn't preclude a decrease in the other... suggesting that R* would ever be so stupid as to suddenlly ignore everything that made them so successful might just be the dumbest thing I've heard all day - and I watched the 'Presidential' debates.

NXSwitch3525d ago

Hey Mike wakeup...(slaptotheface), hey listen I just fig I'd wake u up bcos u seem to be in pain. What ur saying why I did that?...Well this letter I found in the time machine which ur body came tumbling out from told me to. What year u say, this the year 2017, year of the takeover NX!........(o.o)!

Baby Peyj and Jade's dad? I want to believe.

Edit: on second thought, the guy looks south asian and he seems to be sporting an Indian tilaka on his forehead. He could have a connection with Jade but I'm not entirely sure if he's her father.

Shubhendu_Singh3526d ago

I am an indian and damn I didn't even noticed it until you pointed his appearance out.

I am ashamed to admit I have never played BG&E.

Genuine-User3525d ago

BG&E is a fantastic game. And it holds up rather well, even though it's almost 14 years old.

The 10th Rider3526d ago

At this point, considering it wasn't at E3 and Ubisoft's recent Wii U comments, I think there may be some weight to the rumors of it being a NX title.

robtion3526d ago

If so I will buy an NX just for this game. The original is one of my favourite games ever.

XanderZane3525d ago

Hopefully it won't be an NX exclusive, as I have no plans on buying one of those anytime soon. UbiSoft is know for making multiplats though, so I doubt it will be.

-Foxtrot3526d ago

Hopefully it's not a Nintendo exclusive. I'm sorry but I understand Bayonetta with Sega not wanting to go through with it but Beyond Good and Evil 2 is something everyone has been asking for years for. Ubisoft are more financial stable and have enough money to do it themselves. Would be a slap to the face for gamers to wait years for it only to be restricted to a Nintendo console which lets face it is most likely not going to have a good enough controller to play it with. Then you have the fact with it probably being underpowered compared to the other consoles the game won't reach it's full potential.

The 10th Rider3526d ago

Eh, if the NX is more powerful than the Wii U the big limitation would mostly be graphics. If Nintendo indeed funded it, it would be ubisoft's fault. I don't wish for it to be exclusive or anything, but there may be credence to the rumors. I hope that if anything like that, it's just a timed exclusive. Who knows at this point though.

Erik73573526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

We have had rumors of Nintendo interested in Beyond evil franchise, this had been a dead IP for years essentially, NX reveal is around the corner, put the pieces together man.

Ck1x3526d ago

Well if this turns out to be something that Nintendo ended up funding with Ubisoft, you guys better be prepared to be sore now then! I don't understand how it's okay for Sony to do it with SFV but anyone else that seeks exclusives is just a crime...

-Foxtrot3526d ago

I wasn't fine with Sony doing it that's the thing

Plus I'm not a huge fan of Street Fighter anyway

If it was on the PS4 and Xbox One they will be able to do more

I've been waiting for this bloody game for years I want it to be the best it can be. Not dumbed down with a gimmicky controller

The 10th Rider3526d ago

Oh, it really does seem to be the case. I'm just saying I'd rather games be available to more people. I recognize the business side of things and I'm not going to get upset about things like Street Fighter or Rise of the Tomb Raider. . . But at the same time if a company wa ts to foot part of the bill for timed exclusivity, but let the game be on other consoles eventually, that's a good thing. Like Microsoft putting Xbox One games on PC, people can talk the business parts pf it all day, but at the end of the day more people having access to the games is good. However, as I said, if a company wants to fund the game and keep it to themselves, more power to them, I wont be upset. I'll likely be buying a NX either way.

wonderfulmonkeyman3526d ago (Edited 3525d ago )

You can say it's a slap as much as you like, but it's not, because the original game was also on GC, and has a fair share of fans from there too.
Nintendo NEEDS games like this to make the NX worthwhile: multiplats alone won't cut it, and if this pulls in more sales and lets people have the sequel they've always wanted, then it's smart for Nintendo to acquire it, and other games like it.

You need to stop acting like exclusives are such a horrible thing.
The fact is that exclusives help make systems more attractive than multiplats alone, especially for Nintendo now that they're on the cusp of a new system launch that they really need to make a success.
Big names like this even more so, if they come in sufficient numbers, unless of course you're one of those people who are too cheap to move away from owning just one system.
They help systems set themselves apart, grow, thrive, and push competitors to do better by having other systems try to beat them out of the top spot each gen.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3525d ago (Edited 3525d ago )

Aint that funny.

I wonder what happen to all the people on this site saying if the NX get Third Party support they will support it.
Yet here yall are against it getting support.

If it was Multiplatform Third Party Support for the NX none of yall are getting it neither if it was exclusive.
Bunch of liars on this site.

NXSwitch3525d ago (Edited 3525d ago )

"not going to have a good enough controller to play it with", sorry but Sony just added a touch tech in their controller so they are moving slowly in a gamepad way just like they finally added touch tech on their poor vita. I hope its NX Exc!

Erik73573526d ago

Yea, I think Nintendo is at least partially funding the game and it will be exclusive. We haven't heard anything for years about this game and we are now hearing about it when we are potentially weeks from NX reveal?

C4rnos3526d ago

It makes better financial and long term value if the game is a multiplat- unless Nintendo made a ridiculous offer, as a gamer it'd break my heart if it was an exclusive; everybody should get a chance to experience such an amazing, one of a kind game's sequel.

wonderfulmonkeyman3525d ago

@c4rnos

Why would it break your heart?
Just get an NX for it.
Convince others to do the same, as well.
Push the system to a leading position in userbase, or as close to that as possible, by getting people to put aside their allegiances to one system in favor of owning more than one, or switching, and it'll get plenty of sales.
Word of mouth does wonderful things, so if the NX turns out to be a good system, help it sell, and you'll help BG&E sell more than enough to support the devs, and go far beyond breaking even in profit, too.

wonderfulmonkeyman3525d ago

It would help the system sell to third party lovers that want attractive third party titles, so I hope so.

This is pretty sweet. Thank you, Michel Ancel, for keeping your dream alive. Now let's get this trilogy!

Erik73573526d ago

You think its sweet until you realize its gonna only be on Nintendo NX

Ck1x3526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

What's wrong with that?
The original game sold horrible so if Nintendo ponies up money to fund it, that's less of a risk for Ubisoft.

strayanalog3525d ago

Whether that rumor is true or not I'm cool with it as long as Beyond Good and Evil 2 is out there ready to play.

isarai_lee110d ago

No fan wants that BS, we wanted a sequel not an MMO spinoff with an "Evil Jade" cameo

-Foxtrot109d ago

I love how they only added Jade like a year later through a CGI trailer to hush up the complaints about it being a prequel without Jade

Only to show Jade who's now evil creating a massive timeline issue as it makes no sense.

TheColbertinator109d ago

Trusting Ubisoft at this point is suicidal

Toecutter00109d ago

It's been in development for 15 years and counting. So, who cares, really? Say whatever you want. It's completely meaningless.

Five Big Games Still Lingering Somewhere in Development Hell

Pretty sure Silk Song and Dragon Age are going smoothly. The other 2 can be assumed to be quietly cancelled knowing their publishers and Metroid will most likely be shown off this year.

Michiel1989861d ago

Dragon Age going smoothly??? Directors leaving, people leaving in general, terrible working conditions....not sure how you define smoothly.

VincentVanBro763d ago

lol Dragon Age development has been anything but smooth

Chocoburger861d ago

I remember in 2017 when Nintendo showed off the Metroid Prime 4 logo, and some Nintendo defenders claimed "Just because they only showed a logo, doesn't mean that's all they've worked on for the game."

As history has proven, they were wrong. Nintendo showed off a logo back in 2017 because that's literally all they had.

-Foxtrot861d ago

I think Beyond Good and Evil 2 can stay there unless they are going to just rename it to a new IP

DOMination-861d ago

Pretty sure BG&E2 is dead at this point - along with the other game Ancel was working on before he left - I think it was called WILD. Anyone remember that from a PS conference years ago?

Dreadwolf isn't in development hell anymore and is finally getting its reveal in the summer - since 2016 the game has been scrapped and restarted three times but its been going pretty well since the last reboot when EA finally allowed BioWare to just get on with making a single player game.

I'm not sure Perfect Dark is in development hell either - like it could be but we haven't really heard much to suggest either way - imo they just showed the trailer off when the game was still in pre-production. Xbox were desperate for anything and this is all they had at the time. And the reason we haven't heard anything since is just because it's in normal development and games take 5 years to make. The help from a support studio was typically overblown on N4G because nearly every game has this.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 Is Now the Most Delayed AAA Game Ever

Ubisoft's action-adventure even beats Duke Nukem Forever which previously was the title with the longest wait between a game being first announced and it actually being released.

x_xavier_x1330d ago

I understand that the original game is held in high esteem by some passionate fans. I tried to get into it on several occasions and I just lost interest after a few hours of gameplay.

Abracadabra1330d ago

Beyond Good & Evil was a great game at the time... but, like most older games, it didn't age well. Gameplay and graphics are subpar by today's standards.

Wouldn't mind if they made a Remake with updated gameplay and graphics. Game turns 20 next year...

x_xavier_x1330d ago (Edited 1330d ago )

I feel the same way about the original Psychonauts. I gave it a shot every few years, and it just wasn't for me.

MadLad1330d ago

I find it still very playable by today's standards, honestly.

But opinions are opinions.
I just feel it actually aged well.

Godmars2901329d ago

Its was great middleware that someone thought would make for an even greater AAAA title.

For some reason...

0hMyGandhi1329d ago

Beyond Good and Evil aged just fine, as did the original Psychonauts. Visually, sure, a bit rough (though both have a wonderfully refreshing art style that more than makes up for actual "visual fidelity".)

I'd say that you really need to give both of these games another shot. Psychonauts is one of the most original and utterly creative games I've ever played, and it's also one of the funniest as well. Psychonauts 2 was even better, and basically, a (well made) Pixar movie brought to life.

In all honesty, don't just play games and try to like them if you don't actually like them. It's perfectly fine to have your own tastes! we tend to use a tremendous amount of hyperbole when referring to games that are slightly older, and we speak only from memory, which *can* be deceiving.

I will say that I replayed the first Psychonauts again in the last few months, and still adore it. But like I said, this is all subjective.

1329d ago
poppatron1329d ago

I gave up on the og psychonauts after about 5 or so hours because like many many people those weird sluggish controls just got the better of me while trying to get through some of the more testing platforming and swinging around parts.

BgaE I got way further in enjoyed, I think I saved it off in the end because something I was more interested in came out. The sequel looks like a completely different type of game in genre and scope, to the point it looked pretty ground breaking I thought. I’m still super low key excited for it, although I wouldn’t be surprised if next time it reared it’s head it looked very very different.

EazyC1329d ago

It's an age thing. I'm always reminded of this when I whip out the old PS2, the vast majority of 3D games from the '00s just haven't aged well.

Good-Smurf1329d ago

I have same feeling over Code Veronica X fans loved it to bits while I'm came out of it confused and disappointed.
I never played Beyond Good & Evil and I might get give it a try soon.

deleted1330d ago

Cancel it or change the name for all I care. This isn't the Beyond Good & Evil I fell in love with.

Si-Fly1330d ago

Weird take. Whilst we didn’t get proper gameplay reveals it looked very much how I would want BG&E to look now.

-Foxtrot1330d ago (Edited 1330d ago )

So you wanted an ambitious open world Beyond Good and Evil sequel that gameplay differs from the original and has no clear vision so far if it's a prequel (which no one wanted) or a sequel (with an evil Jade where she's not the main character, which no one wanted)

All people wanted was a full on sequel that's a platformer and continues Jades story.

-Foxtrot1330d ago

Exactly

It's not Beyond Good and Evil

They had an idea for an ambitious new IP and thought it would sell better or had more of a safety net if they slapped on a franchise name.

isarai1329d ago

Seriously, has absolutely nothing to do with the original other that a loose cameo.

CrimsonWing691330d ago (Edited 1330d ago )

How hard is it to make a game like the original? Nobody wanted anything different and these idiots just insist on trying to make something completely unrelated AND they don’t even know what to make! So, yea, here we go with the delays. Ubisoft can be such an obnoxious publisher/developer.

InklingGirl1330d ago

Just leave it alone, the original is a classic lets not ruin it.

Exvalos1330d ago

I'm more worried about how fast that time went i still remember it being announced there is no way that was that many years ago NO WAY!
