Whether framerate or native resolution, it's exciting to see significant improvements on Pro.

MasterCornholio3526d ago

Well as long as the framerate is good I don't believe PSVR users will have an issue with this.

The opportunity to sell my 3 year old PS4 and since I´m interested in PSVR, I jumped on it. So my PS4 Pro is primarily to support PSVR better. I dont have a 4K TV and probably wont get one of at least another year and I´m fine with that.

SniperControl3526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

The Pro offers many improvements for full HD TV's as well, my little lad wants my orig PS4 in his bedroom, so unfortunately i am going to have to wait untill Jan next year before i get the Pro, gutted.

lokirevamped3526d ago

Same here except I have my PS4 Pro reserved already. I gave him my new one already, I am just collecting games to play on it now. Grabbed GOW, Last Of Us and God Eater.

freshslicepizza3526d ago

and this is exactly what sony wants, people to upgrade because of psvr.

"When you get close to an object (on the normal PS4), the angles would be a little bit rough, and without getting too technical the rendering resolution would be a bit lower than we wanted."

sure psvr wioll work on a regular ps4 pro but i bet once people try it with a ps4 pro they won't want to go back

fllysurfer3526d ago

Yes for sure, I know it´s a semi-covert agenda since they aren´t talking much about it.
Although they did say briefly that one game, “Farpoint” had double the resolution and improved frame rate on PS4 Pro.

I also acted based on previous experiences with ageing consoles. I rather get some back on older hardware and spend a little more to get the new one, than ride the thing into the ground and have nothing to reinvest.

My PS4 is day one and was heavily used, was noisy because it was never opened to have the fan cleaned. So basically I´m playing it safe. The option of opening it up was on the table, I even have the T9 Torx security bits but I decided to sell. It was a decent sell since I only need 99€ to get the Pro and it was a 3 year old machine.

mogwaii3526d ago

Considering the framerate is already 60fps minimum it makes sense to use it for rendering."

Fishy Fingers3526d ago

Expect this to be the case with most VR titles. Minimum frame rate requirements have already been set by Sony, the Pro will largely aid in making VR titles look the best they can as I think OG PS4 is going to struggle to hit the FPS needs and still look 'current gen' in VR.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing18d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9218d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit18d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing18d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9218d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
