native 4k can't be done on ps4 pro and won't be done on xbox scorpio. up scaled yes native no atleast not with the specs both systems are supporting

No its not. This is just an option for a consumer who has interest around 4k content and looking to get more out of their 4k TV. Is it the best all end all....no but it's also not positioned that way. I do think their price move and custom HDR solution make the PS4 more attractive to me.

There will always be a complain from the Xbox camp so there is no need to pay attention. If it wasn't for the UBD playback, which can be enabled by a firm update,, they would be complaining about the PS4 Pro not making coffee ☕.

The PS4 Pro was apparently designed to compete with PC? I guess so was the Scorpio but if even that doesn't compete with PC, what chance does the PS4 Pro has?

But then I also wonder, who is the Scorpio even designed for? A lot of people seem to believe it is indeed to compete with the PC market seeing how it is supposed to run games at 4k resolution.

First of all, the console will be prob around 700-800 dollars. Like it or not, 4k requires strong hardware to run decently.
4k is NOT a standard in Europe. Maybe it's future proofing which is good, but so many online are saying how they are gonna game in 4k. I supposed it is a standard in America? But that means in order to fully enjoy your console now, you need to fork out 700-800 bucks (if not more as we don't even have a price), and choose between a cheap 4k of 500 bucks or a decent one for gaming for about 800 bucks.

I thought that one of the defenses from many console only gamers was that consoles are cheap? If people so desperately wanted to game in 4k AND spend this money on it, you could have done it a long time ago anyway on PC.

IMHO the PS4 Pro is just gonna replace the PS4 in general, Slim will be overlooked seeing how it is only 100 dollars price difference and the Scorpio doesn't really seem to be build for anyone. And then we have Nintendo NX which god only knows what's gonna end up like.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
