Why We Returned ‘No Man’s Sky’

VICE asked five paying customers what made them return the not-so-infinite possibilities of the massively hyped video game.

...because it is an enjoyable 1st person experience of exploring the universe. The MP elements that allow you to see what others have discovered is surprisingly enjoyable.

The idea that you could run into someone else, no matter how astronomical the chance (ie they have to be in the same lobby AND on the same planet (as was explained in 2014), the diversity of the fauna and flora.

What I love about it, is, just like the only planets and moons we have ever observed, the planets and moons match mostly what we see in our solar system. And, just like the game, I run into one planet out of 12 that is mostly water.

How the time lord did you do this. For me at least it says that you replied to a post 13 hours ago. For me it says the post was made just 1 hour ago. I bow down before you sir. Also I agree with you on points you made.

It means it has been a pending article for quite a while before it was finally approved. You can read pending articles and comment on them.

But you can't run into anyone else. This has become a well known fact. And it only makes sense. No one (certainly not an indie dev) would spend a large part of the budget on a feature that ~0% of players would try.
There has been no documented cases of MP because it isn't part of the game.

I think it's not just that you have to be on the same planet but on the same server as well. The chance to meet is even smaller.

thorstein3562d ago

What boing said is right. It was already explained how impossible it would be, but it can happen. Just because it hasn't doesn't mean it can't.

Because the game is actually better than the haters want you to believe...

It's good at first but quickly gets repetitive as all hell to the point where it feels completely pointless. I returned mine also.

This one article is worth more to me than all the others screaming about lies and rip offs. Real people who aren't acting like douches genuinely saying why they didn't like the game. Constructive criticism. Seriously this is how things should be, instead of the usual bashfest. I personally enjoyed the game a lot, and now I get to understand the people who didn't I can respect that. I find it harder to respect the people acting like 4 year olds having a tantrum.

Because it's virtually endless.....and because I'm hoping to see something that will make me flip my wig and literally send me screaming, crazed and half mad into the streets to profess the glories No Man's Sky has bestowed upon unworthy me.

No Man’s Sky: Assemble Your Creatures for Battle in the Xeno Arena with the Newest Free Update

Sean writes: "Last month’s Remnant update caused much hilarity as you tooled with your newfangled gravity guns and customisable exocraft, transporting precarious industrial cargo across uneven terrain in a classic risk vs. reward fight. Our latest update is a whole different beast."
