That's a shame, The Witcher 3 could really use the help on PS4...

VER1ON3546d ago

Would have been amazing if CDPR would release a title update the same way Crystal Dynamics will for Rise of the Tomb Raider - 3 different visual modes, each with its own benefits.

zeal0us3546d ago (Edited 3546d ago )

CDPR done gave a ton of free dlc and deliver some of the best paid dlc a company can offer.

I hate to sound ignorant but if you want "pro"/better version/update get a pc. We shouldn't expect some developers jump the "pro update" bandwagon. My PS4 will work just fine without it.

RiseofScorpio3545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

True. Not worth the time, CPR is done with The Witcher for now.

_-EDMIX-_3546d ago

Agreed , this is a bit of a shocker as I assumed they would be one of the top teams on board.

So much for giving back to the community and support. They moved on pretty quickly...

DJustinUNCHAIND3546d ago

You're joking with that last statement, right?

poppinslops3546d ago

They've repeatedly stated that they are done working on the Witcher - a game that will have been out for a year and a half by the time the PS4Pro launches... But fear not (you're gonna love this) - the XO version uses dynamic-scaling, so the Scorpio 'version' will get a boost in fps/res, regardless of CDPR!

arkard3546d ago

Considering the game got a patch less than a month ago, well over a year since it released, I think they have supported the game amazingly

_-EDMIX-_3546d ago

=)

You guys should have known I was going to hit you with some shade comment at the end! Lol

_-EDMIX-_3546d ago

I can't believe Electronic Arts is supporting one of their games better than CD projekt Red and having compatibility with Pro...

Smdfh

game4funz3545d ago

You must be joking... Wow. I'm sorry to say this but you're ignorant.

Are you not aware how much support they've given the game?

Such a ridiculous statement of this caliber I have never read.

annoyedgamer3545d ago

The world doesnt revolve around sony.

slate913545d ago

Edm, i remember you accussing me of moving goal-posts when I voiced my concern for this very situation. What is the dev's incentives for free work?

DarXyde3545d ago

I'd say they've done far more than enough. It's a very thorough and meticulous entry as is. It's perfectly fine if they want to move on.

_-EDMIX-_3545d ago

I merely joking and throwing some shade simply because you guys very much know how I feel about this team lol.

I actually don't care that CD projekt Red is not supporting PlayStation 4 Pro and I agree that there really isn't much reason for them to at this point. I would have loved to play Witcher 3 on Pro simply because I've had to start my game over again and I have moved on to other games and still plan to continue playing it in the future when I have some time.

Early on when the game first released my game got corrupted twice and I had to start over. The first time my game save got corrupted I was playing for well over 40 hours, the second time it was only about 10 or so hours in. But it was enough for me to move on to other titles.

I'll still buy their next game day 1 though, even with all the issues I had with Witcher 3 I would still purchase it day one upon release I'm pretty positive I could have already finished the game if I hadn't stopped so many times so I can't really say I regret my day one purchase because it was very much my choice.

I still feel I probably would have already completed the game if my save hadn't been corrupted several times.

CDPR could get the real MVP award if they give out their expansions for free after a year like EA just did.

Just saying...(troll face)

Lukejrl3545d ago

Money doesn't fall from trees. And they may put it out later but not their focus right now. Cyberpunk for the win

neoandrew3545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

You can't just expect everyone to make, a ps4 pro patch, they released GOTY of the game not so long ago, not everyone can jump the bandwagon as it was nothing, it cost time, money, resources, witcher 3 is a huge game, they just can like that change the game, leave everything, their business plans and make a patch for still a weak console.

You want play better version, play on pc 60 fps, that simple.

Bahamut3546d ago

I really only have an issue with the load times. All of the other issues have mostly been smoothed out, thankfully. I still play it everyday. Almost got the platinum! :D

arkard3545d ago

me to, just finishing my death march playthrough, and have about 20 random gwent cards yet

curtis923545d ago

Something tells me this statement is simply an open call to see if demand is there. If there's outcry, I bet we'll see something.

They know it would be alot of work for little reward I mean I still have the witcher 3 and will never sell it so if they did the work for the pro it would cost me nothing.

DragonPaw3546d ago (Edited 3546d ago )

It is just one of penultimate games of this gen. I see this more of a statement of standing by OG PS4 /XOne owners rather than a rebuke towards the Pro and/or lack of desire to support it. However, if the Pro can produce significant results, I do not think that they will shy away from a patch that might renew interest in the game. It could sell DLC to all those who never bought them previously (also anyone who hasn't bought the game yet), and they just released a new patch a few weeks ago?

I think the key word here is "plans", because it is a word that holds no exact value other than a stance at a moment. It would also enhance their status. This is the glory a developer may seek: having the game of a generation.

DragonPaw3545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

I have to disagree with you. Your "definitely" is an assumption. When there is a big enough audience who want something, it is only logical for that want to be fulfilled. They have not shown any abandonment of this game considering a patch was released recently, and I, personally, do not think that they do not want to satisfy their customers. In fact, they have made a point to go so above and beyond that your idea of "definitely" seems outlandish.

If it was definite, they would use more direct language such as "There will not..." They chose not to phrase it that way, and the only reason why is so that they can voice differently in the future if they want to.

This company, in particular, does not seem like they would leave an audience wanting. In the meantime, I definitely can understand why they might want to distance themselves from all of the PS4 Pro hate that is lashing out at the moment. That is rational.

CyrusLemont3546d ago

A stable 1440p30fps with more bells and whistles would have been noice. Hopefully their plans change after Gwent and before that team moves onto Cyberpunk 2077.

TheOptimist3545d ago

The team is already full swing on Cyberpunk.

CyrusLemont3545d ago

“Our teams are currently working very hard on GWENT: The Witcher Card Game and Cyberpunk 2077. We want to be entirely focused on the development of these projects.”

I was referring to their team working on Gwent, their statement gave that much information. I also don't understand why anyone disagreed with my original comment. Does no one want a better graphical update for PS4 Pro? My performance guess seemed pretty fair given the power of the PS4 Pro.

TheOptimist3545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

Everybody knows that CDPR can't increase much in terms of either graphical fidelity as well as framerate. The CPU of PS4 Pro is just not upto the mark. And as for the power of PS4 Pro, it's not very different from the PS4, so what was your evaluation exactly?

BartMoons3546d ago

4K option would have been worth it!

Goldby3546d ago

60FPS in my opinion is more important for that game

3545d ago
RiseofScorpio3545d ago

You're joking? You'll need much more than 4tflops for that.

The actor who portrayed Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher series of games has died

Alexander Morton, the Scottish actor probably best known for starring in British comedy drama Monarch of the Glen - but known to me for being the hilariously foul-mouthed dwarf Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 - has died aged 81.

Cause they play NBA2k26, COD and gamepass

Fishy Fingers72d ago (Edited 72d ago )

3x less sales than Playstation.
3x less consoles sold than Playstation.

Per captita, it averages out that the same number of users are buying CDP games regardless of platform, no?

Bathyj72d ago

The exact same or possibly more because a series S, initial investment and effort to Port to Xbox consoles for a third of the return.

Simply not worth it

LMGk72d ago

“ Simply not worth it”

And yet, basically every game comes to Xbox.

NotoriousWhiz72d ago (Edited 72d ago )

A third is a pretty big number to be honest. Like would you rather make 15 million or 20 million? That's the difference that a third makes.

GamingSinceForever73d ago

Hey it’s ok. They are really impressed with XBOx’s new CEO so exclusivity is on the way. 😂

Loktai72d ago

Ok but I mean be logical ... modern PC, Switch, PS4 PS5 then you have XBOX, of all of those XBOX is probably only 10 percent... I mean, what do you expect? 10 percent increase in sales is still nothing to sneeze at, remember - this is CD projekt red and they sell a lot of software. 10 percent of their sales is probably what most studios DREAM of selling .... just playing devils advocate..... its easy to say LOL haha XBOX.... but.. I mean we know what it is at this point. I havent bought on since my xbox one X and before that I only used other peoples xboxes since the OG XBOX and stick with PC and Playstation and switch OLED, but .. I mean.... theres nothing WRONG with an xbox considering its just not the best - but they work fine. make no mistake.
