to tell you the truth it couldn't upscale even if they wanted to becuase this game is not like the corridor shooter that has nothing demanding going on in game

Oh man I was hoping CDPR would jump to upgrade Witcher 3 if not its cool move on to your next game. I rather they put their efforts on the next game Witcher 3 is just amazing as is.

I'm of the mind that this won't take away from them getting on Cyberpunk, so I'll take this a good news. Glass half full!

So lets say a game doesnt get an update for the pro. Does that mean we will at least hit the intended frame rate? I would love to play Dark Souls 3 without the stuttering.

Yet they put out 3456544 patches and released a predictable goty version. I'd be shocked if they didn't update it for Pro.

Kinda glad actually, I was holding off finishing the game and the 2 expansions for the pro version, now I don't have to wait

Lol that's fine. It took them over 6 months after release after a release date delay after another release date delay to get that weird 20fps triple buffering bug squashed. 9 months on from that and they finally fixed a lot more of the major game breaking glitches (Although my horse's tail still never came back as of patch 1.20).

I'm sure the FPS will get a boost from the extra horsepower though.

That sucks, that's one concern I do have for these upgrades. Not every Dev will use the extra power.

They could unlock the framerate, at least

Even without a patch the Pro should give the benefit of a rock solid frame rate without any drops and that goes for any title that doesn't get a patch. And what's not to say that they add a patch later down the road.

Last statement I heard from them was that they are only working on Cyberpunk now. I'd rather them put everything into their new game. It would be nice, sure. But I expect Cyberpunk will have different settings for the multiple consoles that will be around when it releases.

C'mon CDPR, you can do it!

Maybe just a patch to stabilize the framerate just little more.Maybe grunt power would do the trick once the PS4 Pro comes out,just like the Xbox S did to some games.

Not surprising given that they're now all hands on deck with Cyberpunk 2077, still would love to playthrough the epic adventure again with improved visuals

Wow, this is such a fail, support for this Pro is a complete fail... I knew these companies would not be willing to go back in and update their games.. So I guess you can just count old games out of the picture, unless they are first party, and even then might not happen / driveclub not happening.... focus on new stuff coming out.. hopefully Titanfall 2 plans to support, Battlefield 1, ... fingers crossed.

Good. It's a waste of development time to go back and slightly better the visuals of games that were long-beaten by the fans. I'd rather them fully devote resources to new games, and this goes for all developers.

CDPR did start on PC afterall.

On PC when you upgrade your rig you can automatically experience the benefits across all the games you own old and new. On consoles, even if you pay extra to go Pro you're still at the mercy of publishers and devs. So if they don't one to upgrade then it's your loss not theirs and that sucks. But that's just one of the many drawbacks of a closed platform.

I really think Sony should have marked and made the PR talk more around the PS4 Pro has a 1080p@60fps console instead of passing the message that the Pro will aim first to 4K upscale rather than a boost on framerate and with that better and smoother gameplay,im pretty sure that the adopting rate on the PS4 Pro would end been higher if some major developers along with Sony come out and said look we are aiming to get the games on the Pro to 1080p@60fps and patch some major released games to that target also focusing that VR will be better on the PS4 Pro.The 4K talk should have stayed away until the PS5.

Well... "no plans" in the game industry is rarely a firm no, let alone from a CSR responding to an email. Considering CDPR still actively patch this game it's more likely than many other third party games.

This is the area where Microsofts DX12 and unified platform can play a major role. Witcher 3 can possibly be simply scaled and ported from the PC version into a Scorpio version without the need of wasting resources because the process can be done in house at Microsoft. Play anywhere is erasing the lines for things like that to be possible.

I think they have a deal brewing with Microsoft - Maybe some Cyberpunk Scorpio stuff in the works. I would be amazing for Microsoft to have that game to market the Scorpio with. Could that be hindering Ps4P support?

I agree with this. Cyberpunk is in full development process. No way they can be distracted.

From this moment henceforth, Xbox hardware shall simply just exist but have no significant bearing from a business standpoint or from a gamer culture standpoint. It will simply be there for the people that want to have it and that's fine if they're selling it at a high price and actually making money off each sale.

But they should never ever again be Xbox fanboys anymore than they should be Lenovo laptop fanboys it's just a piece of hardware that exists to serve a purpose for niche group of people.

I’ll say this. Cyberpunk had a tumultuous start on console. Even if it had sold like crazy, that whole almost unplayable fiasco and being given no questions asked refunds made a lot of people not look back.
When it comes to PC, people are a lot more forgiving of things like that, especially on Steam, because of the return policy. I really think console manufacturers should implement the exact same refund policy. Was it played under X time? Refund it. It makes people take that risk on games a LOT more than on console. Bought this game and it was broken? Refund it. They said they fixed it 3 months later? Buy it again. It’s fixed but just not fun? Refund it. On console you don’t have that luxury. Was it downloaded? GG. No refund. Lord knows my Steam library is full of “I’ll try it” games that I loved and I’m glad I can take a rush on. On console, specifically PlayStation because I’m not buying Xbox games, I take calculated risk. Known developers. Shinobi, Ninja Gaiden ragebound, stuff like that. Obviously big exclusives and games too. I would have never tried Little Bookstore on PlayStation, but on Steam… why not? Hellish Quart? Why not. Buckshot Roulette? Why not.

this is why console sales matter, folks.
