Lol no way MS does anything to slow down this train. Even if they find more success in the next couple years I don't see PS falling off a cliff which is what it would take for MS to capture this console war. 20 million units is alot of ground to make up, and assuming Scorpio sells at a rapid pace, the PSP would basically have to be dead in the water for MS to catch up, let alone surpass Sony. I am excited for Scorpio though lol...

Sony has something that Microsoft does not and its EXCLUSIVE GAMES. Thats the biggest reason for sony winning. Power of console can not change the gameplay and story. The games need to have Great Art Design Which sony games does its not everything about pure tech point of graphics

understand this xbox360 came out a year before ps3 and had a 6 plus million lead. it took ps3 over 6 years to catch/surpass it so 20 million isn't going anywhere

the only question is by what margin. contrary to fanboys belief ps4 pro is gonna sell really well and will grow the lead for ps4. than when scorpio comes out sony can knock down the price to $349. there is no way ms can sell scorpio for anything less than $450(most likely $499) so a $100-$150 price difference is gonna be huge

As its been said tons of times already... Sony already has a lock on this gen. And while Scorpios specs are going to finally give the XB1 some sort of edge over their competition, no doubt the predictably high price tag ($550-$650) is not going to be moving too many consoles off the shelves aside from the initial burst.

Not to mention the Scorpio will be a year late to the "console upgrade" party.

The sony ps4 has already won this console generation. Microsoft is virtually bringing in a newish generation with Scorpio . Let this be an end to these same articles saying the same thing .

They're going to "win" this console generation no matter what. Once you're that far ahead, you stay ahead until the end of the gen.

With that said, Scorpio utterly destroys the Pro in terms of specs. It's almost embarrassing. You can expect Sony to announce at least one more revision to the PS4 this gen. Think PS4 Ultra.

Sony has a 55% marketshare with PS4 right now. They've long since won, and that position is secured for the duration of this gen. PS4 has a 21+ million unit lead over Xbone, currently. PS4 has also won the games department as well. It has no competition, currently, and no hardware boost for Xbone in a year is going change that.

Playstation has already won this generation with the regular PS4 even before it started. Is not my opinion. Those are facts and official market data.

PS4 Pro and PSVR are just going to expand Playstation market domination without any real competition for at least more than a year away.

It's not even just the Pro. I think a lot of people make the mistake thinking it's Pro vs (sometime in the future) Scorpio. Nope. This generation is all of them OG, slim, even PSVR. A whole range of different hardware.

Uhhhhh....that race is over. They've already won this gen. The only thing Microsoft can do is build toward establishing supremacy, which would be for the first time, mind you, next generation. If Microsoft can show they are doing the right things and giving gamers what they want at a price that is competitive, then they will have a decent shot at selling better, and probably only in the U.S. and England/Great Britain next gen. But this gen is over, as far as the sales battle goes.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
