Gamers like to believe that their opinions matter. Whether it’s ignorance, or simply a blind sense of entitlement, they all like to think that their collective voice means something, that their opinions alone, will transform the landscape of interactive entertainment. Over the past decade any

I think the only game here for me is Nine Sols. Was always interested in that game.
Good month for me, I wanted that particular footy game and thought it might be due. Anyway who cares, shame about the site I'll miss the comment sections. All the best everyone.
Naughty Dog was reportedly divided on the controversial fate of Joel in The Last of Us Part 2 during the game's development.
I think it was good decision, if he was still alive, he would have been a mascot just like Kratos, drake and many others. These old dudes gotta die for new characters to take center stage with their own storyline. They keep dragging the emotional baggage into many sequels and eventually the story just turns into absolute shit show.
Honestly as much as I loved the game, they could have just not killed him off.
I get it creator vision and all but killing a character that made you millions is just wrong imo. At least have him go down fighting.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
What makes your opinion matter so much, then? You clearly must think its worth more than the rest of ours if you submit a piece with that title
"they all like to think that their collective voice means something, that their opinions alone, will transform the landscape ". So which is it? they know that they have to come together for their voice to mean something? or they think they alone can change something?
But yeah, you're right, gamers' voices don't matter. unrelated, I really want to play sunset overdrive, but I can't because my internet connection is out. Also my buddy loaned me his copy of Ryse, but I can't play it without paying some kind of fee? And my cat just got tangled up in the wire for my mandatory Kinect. If only gamers' opinions mattered, we could have gotten MS to fix all this.
I agree. It's all based on how their actions hit their wallet. If people stop buying they'll start listening. If people keep buying, you can throw all the insults, suggestions, and death threats you want. They're going to continue on the same path.
Dumb clickbait premise. Consumer opinion is the driving force behind any free market. If what people thought didn't matter, you'd be able to buy HDDVDs right next to Blu-Rays and Assassin's Creed 2 would have been a carbon copy of Assassin's Creed 1, among other things. People buy what they think is the best option, and people who make products try to match their product to what they think people want. It's basic economics. Just like giving your article a controversial title so you get rage clicks which brings you in more ad money.
What a dumb ignorant article lol. "The people in charge will always have the final word". No, dummy. The dollar always has the last word. The opinions of a vocal minority doesn't matter, you're right. The opinions of some random executive or board doesn't matter either. If their decisions fail to meet demand of their market they will be thrown out so fast their head would spin. Cash rules everything around us and we (the market) have the final say. Our opinions do matter but our consumerism speaks louder than words.
