Love how its been down twice and they decided they want to charge 10 more dollars a year now. I love my PlayStation but sony does not deserve $60 for their online service. At least not until they improve it and you can change your name for god sake.

Slowly but surely I'm beginning to hate Playstation. Kudos Sony.

Could they be planning the 4.00 update for tomorrow or something else and this is a last minute thing? Btw anyone else in the 4.00 beta? What do you think? I'm a bit underwhelmed, but I like the new trophy system and the menu. Wonder what else they're adding.

The lack of notice is frustrating. Like others here, I think it's fair to speculate this is the prep work for the update or some completely new network features they'll be rolling out tomorrow. I guess we'll see if it's our dollars at work or Sony just dropping the ball...tomorrow.

Tried playing Uncharted 4 but, obviously, I couldn't connect. I'm able to access the store, though.

Regardless, it's the second time this week, so I'm fairly certain this is Sony gearing up for something. It's an inconvenience that, between two days, costs about 26 cents if you live stateside. Not much, but I understand people being upset since it's the principle of the matter. I wonder if Sony will make up for it tomorrow with some very promising improvements.

We're hours away from finding out. In the meantime, let's be patient. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised. Maybe we'll spend the night together by a fire, sharpening our pitchforks.

Edit: 10:22pm, Call of Duty stopped working, now I cant go online. I can see friends list but not their activity feed. Funny thing tho I can buy games. I just added the free PS+ games to library.

See? This is what I'm talking about. If you're going to have me pay $60 for PS+ just so I can play online (even more ****ed up in a game I already own so that can come up to $120 for a game first year, not including Season Pass and Microtransactions), you have better make this THE best gaming online service on the planet. Free GREAT AAA games/remasters every week, strong internet connection, no servers turn off at ANYTHING, and maintenance on at midnight for a very short time. If you can't provide that service. You get NOTHING. Not a dime.

If its not PS4 game server issues then its Sony sign in servers or PSN - and amazingly they always seem to be able peek gaming periods!

Most likely down due to today's events. Maybe Sony have got a massive surprise coming to their fans. I know the ps4 fans are ready for the NEO.

Yep, two weeks in a row now. It was back up around 10:30pm est. for me last night. All apps were up and Network was working fine.

it was down for hours a few days ago too

personally this is one reason i have not bought a console paying for online just for it to go down for how many hrs is not a good service

It's never news to me PSN is down. It's news to me when it's actually up.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
