Games like these are always bust nine times out of ten. Actually, 9.9 times out of ten probably to be exact. Name me on more than one hand the total number of great movie video games you have played over the last twenty five years.

- Goldeneye 007 - N64
- .....................

I can't even think of any right off the top of my head. This game, by history, is made to fail. I'm guessing its gonna get the usual rating of 40-65. Sometimes, that's even overstepping it. Those games are usually that bad.

Or ask yourself this, do you really think this game is going to get a 90 or highier rating? I doubt it. Or even 80 for that matter.

Rockstar's The Warriors was probably the best movie/game tie-in ever. It actually added to the movie rather than replicated it.

I'm glad you mentioned that game. I saw the movie for the first time on Netflix last week (It still should be on there). The game made by Rockstar is probably pretty decent. One I wana try one day.

Some great games based on movies:

Goldeneye, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Ghostbusters: The Video Game, The Thing, Indiana Jones (various entries), Star Wars (various entries, specifically KOTOR), The Lord of the Rings (so many entries), and more.

Usually yes, games based on movies tend to flop, but there are exceptions.

That being said, this Friday the 13th 'could' be OKAY if the multiplayer is strong. But this being in the hands of indy-devs... It's hard to say.

THRASHMOUTH3541d ago

In its defense, it's also in the hands of a lot of the original creators of the film series.

@THRASHMOUTH

Yeah, I can see the "love" put into all the kills. It looks like authentic Jason, and I like the different costumes too. I'm just worried about the gameplay itself. How is it going to hold up? How long before it loses its appeal? I mean, I get why playing as Jason would be fun, but how could playing as the teens be fun?

Shoot whats next Child's play?Actually that sounds badass

Evil Dead is great. I'd love a Halloween game done this way. Maybe it's a 3 way fight. One player is Michael Myers. 5 players are helpless victims trying to survive, 3 players are hunters trying to stop Michael Myers. Hunters could be Laurie Strode, Dr. Loomis and Sheriff Brackett. Boom, I just laid out the game for you, Gun Media. Lets go.

TheSanchezDavid1362d ago

Alright, this game needs to happen!

shinoff21831362d ago

All thise games would serve better being single player. I see multiplayer attached and i stopped even watching. Shame

sourOG1362d ago

It would. I bought evil dead and played it once lol. If there is any franchise that would get me to play this style of game it’s killer klowns.

CrimsonWing691362d ago

That’s my thing. I’m not into these asymmetrical MP games. Sure, they’re fun the first few days, but after that I’m over them. I’d rather a single player narrative driven experience that really pays homage to the source material like Ghostbusters The Video Game. That thing was essentially Ghostbusters 3 in my eyes and was such a love letter to the fans with Easter eggs and explored lore.

TheSanchezDavid1362d ago

While I would love a solid, competent single player component, the fan in me is stroked to play these games, period. Plus, I do generally enjoy multiplayer horror titles like Dead by Daylight and Evil Dead, so I'm waiting on this with eager anticipation!

mastershredder1362d ago

A mainstream moment full of mediocre cash-grabs is nothing to celebrate.

TheSanchezDavid1362d ago

Evil Dead: The Game was good. And Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Killer Klowns still aren't out yet, sooooo can't really say they're mediocre with any validity quite yet.
