I hate a lot of 2D indie games but seriously, this game is a masterpiece. Play it if you hate or love indies. Play it if you can enjoy a subtle story that demands your own interpretations. This game is a work of art. Bottom line: play it. It's more than deserving of its $20 price tag. Masterpiece. I can't stress that enough!

Great game but they need to have some sort of trade in system for digital games. Once you beat it your done. I see no replay value

lipton1013557d ago

If you think of it, that's not even possible. There's no physical equity in a digital download as where there is a market, both to those online and off, in physical disc based games. The solution to your problem would be in allowing digital rentals of the most recent indie games. $10 for a 15 day rental would be fair and equitable.

P.S. If any game has replay value it's this one, if only to show your friends and family. It's that good

Its a great plat former. The atmosphere is like Limbo, which is good and mysterious. The game is totally worth two and a half hours of your time...........great game, too short. Quit giving me this, " that's how long its supposed to be,"..............Salt and Sanxtuary has some length and depth. Shadow Complex has some length. I can keep naming platform games that have length all day long.

Same with these linear titles. Twelve hours of greatness. "It's game of the year"..............yeah, it totally beats out the other games that have 200 plus hour play throughs that are better than your linear title to begin with nine times out of ten. Devs are getting smarter, they give you a more polished game at the cost of game length. "Fans love there 12 hour play throughs, lets give them another 12 hour play through title next year."

Just once, a 40 plus hour linear title would be epic. I got my lengthy platformer, Salt and Sanxtuary.

Games That Took An Absolutely Bizzare Turn In Their Narrative

Some titles out there focus on introducing a bizarre turn in their narrative. Check out this list for some solid recommendations for those.

"INSIDE" was bloody amazing, and I miss Uncharted's sci-fi and paranormal aspects greatly.

TricksterArrow697d ago (Edited 697d ago )

TBH, 3 and 4 still have them, but they are heavily implied, which can be terrifying the more you think about it, but it is admittedly, much less scary and less interesting gameplay-wise than what 1 and 2 have done.

Inverno697d ago

U3 did show the Jinn's "bottle" in the end and the city was pretty f-ing dope. Just a little disappointing that they didn't lean just a bit more on the mythical parts of the series. Uncharted is a world rooted in reality and Drake knowing all these mythical stuff exists could've led into something cool.

I remember being particularly confused by the twist in LA Noire where Cole Phelps is sort of "exposed". If you've played it you know what I'm talking about. It always felt weird and odd because the player is Cole Phelps. How can the player not know about these sorts of things happening with their own character? I felt like it came out of nowhere.

Soma, Doki Doki Literature Club, Saya no Uta

Is Twelve Minutes on that list? Because IT HAS TO BE ON THAT LIST!
Don’t spoiler yourself with that humongous twist :D

Inside came to Xbox thanks to a phone call from Phil Spencer

The Xbox CEO's personal intervention led to a exclusivity deal with Microsoft, reveals Playdead co-founder Dino Patti.

You mean this guy that put one of his games on gamer pass and says it hurts sales:

https://videogames.si.com/f...

“We did a pretty good deal,” Patti says. “I also think it hurts sales. Because a lot of people just go in and try it and they don't invest. If they don't like the first 10 minutes? That’s it. Also, if you don't make the first 10 minutes amazing, maybe it's also a problem. I think [Game Pass] is okay. It's not my favorite. My favorite is the old premium model where I sell you on some video, on big images, and earn your $30. And then after that, I have to deliver. I don’t need to get money out of you later.”

He and his partner were smart in the fact to tell Sony shit no in owning the IP of Limbo. As for Inside, it's a great game. Music, atmosphere, everything is on point. Xbox got some time exclusivity. And Phil threw money at it. Luckily it wasn't permanent in that I wouldn't have been able to play it. Probably sold more on PlayStation though. But Play Dead sure knew how to make simple but fun side scroller games with puzzles in them. I would buy the next game like those. And knowing the guy, he would want me to buy his next game and earn his money that way.

You have an uncanny ability to turn little one-off stories into a tangential spiel with no ultimate purpose. What's anyone expected to get out of this?

"Did you know a developer who got a timed exclusivity deal with MS *ISN'T* a fan of a service that came out years later?"

I mean... okay? I guess the original story about Nice Guy Phil has been negated now or something?

PapaBop1021d ago (Edited 1021d ago )

"You have an uncanny ability to turn little one-off stories into a tangential spiel with no ultimate purpose."

He probably learned that from MS.

ChasterMies1023d ago

“Not only was Microsoft responsible for much of the game's marketing at various trade shows and conventions, but the timed exclusivity was kept very brief, as the PS4 version of Inside was released just a few months after its debut on Xbox One.”

A lot of folks think these deals are all about cash payments, but often the consideration is marketing. My guess is that this will be less so on Xbox now that Microsoft has all those studios to market.

TricksterArrow1022d ago

Plus, hasn't Inside sold more on PS than Xbox? Major win for the developers.

__SteakDeck__1022d ago (Edited 1022d ago )

So Phil did what he was complaining in court that Sony was doing. Lol

-Foxtrot1022d ago

He’s one of the biggest hypocrites in the industry…of course

Outside_ofthe_Box1021d ago

Phil is such an 'aggressive competitor'.

rippermcrip1022d ago

Headline acts like this game was never coming to Xbox. Not true. It was going to be probably a 1 year exclusive to Sony. Spencer probably gave them the same money to make it 3 months for Microsoft instead.

Flakegriffin1022d ago

So he did his job?

Congrats? 😂
