Respawn are messing with perfection in the sequel, but is it natural evolution or taking steps backwards?

I played the beta over the past two weekends and wasn't really feeling' it. Not as fun as COD or Battlefield. Might pick it up used when its $20.

Palitera3543d ago (Edited 3543d ago )

Yeah, it really felt as a lower tier game.
But I gotta say it is not better than ultra good CoDs, the old ones. If compared with the new games (CoD7+), Titanfall 2 is miles ahead, being more polished (even in "beta"), allowing a glimpse of strategy and not being a spasmodic game.

To me it was better to play that BF1. That's from what i've played of them.

WellyUK3543d ago

I agree BF1 is good but it just feels like a re skin and ultimately is about as good as BF4 which basically means its average at best. TF2 however feels fresh and interesting to me.

zeal0us3543d ago

They should delay it until Q1 2017. Releasing it alongside BF1 and CoD is suicide.

EpicSandwich3543d ago

It doesn't come close to titanfall 1 but will be good alongside bf1 and gears 4. Absolutely destroys any cod I have played since modern warfare though.

VforVideogames3543d ago (Edited 3542d ago )

can I have some of whatever the hell you're smoking?
LOL reality blunt. sorry but not a fan of cod.

EpicSandwich3543d ago

I'm smoking reality sorry to all the cod fanboys who get disappointed year after year

Shadow0fTheDog3543d ago

While I love CoD, what really elevates it for me is the netcode with dedi servers. CoD need to raise their game with that. It's a joke

mcstorm3543d ago

For me it feels to slow. The 1st titan fall was fast but this one dose not feel the same at all. Still unsure if I'm going to pick it up or not yet as its dropped down my wanted games list

Palitera3543d ago (Edited 3543d ago )

I was sure I was gonna buy it, but the "beta" killed it for me too. Wallrunning is mostly gone, titans are a joke and, the absolute worst, the time to kill denies any chance of reacting when you are shot first.

I expected more from Respawn. Now I don't. They are trying too hard to mimmick CoD and are probably killing themselves in another proccess of trying to make the "CoD killer".

mcstorm3543d ago

I agree. I know they were the ones who set the standard for COD but when TF was shown off I had the thought I now get from playing TF2 beta that is will be just like COD. TF was not like COD and I loved it. I was one person who did not want a single player mode and enjoyed the MP side a lot. But now it seems like everyone who called out TF has got what they wanted and that is to be just like COD.

I think ill stick to Halo 5, TF1 and BF1 as my FPS games.

I agree with this. The time travel mechanics. The sense of scale. The relationship with your mech. The bosses all had personalities. It's a wonderful game.

mastershredder736d ago

Yeah it was good, but it only did the time travel bit in one level. Dishonered 2 did the same thing. Now how about a game where it's implemented throughout the gameplay? Singularity says Hello (and deserves so much more recognition).

Never say never, I really didn't expect to ever see Space Marine 2 and 12 years later its almost here.
So there is still hope for all these games.

Chocoburger823d ago

I've completed 5 of the games on the list, but the author forgot to include Advent Rising. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but it bombed hard, and the two sequels never got made. It was Mass Effect, a console generation before Mass Effect.

The game is buggy and unpolished, it needed a few more months of development, but the potential was there. At the end of the game, you have all these super abilities, I remember the stomp attack that created a shockwave being especially powerful.

I personally think days gone will recieve some sort of sequel at some point. I'm personally also hoping it's not the rumored multiplayer online stuff. I'd think most that enjoyed it would rather thisnto.

Knightofelemia823d ago

Sony needs to dust off Sly Cooper and Days Gone so needs a sequel two of my favorite Sony titles. Bulletstorm I love great game wish it also got a sequel. And I wish Namco would finally give Enslaved a sequel another great game.

A best all time mecha game list without Zone of the Enders even on the list is 100% crap to me. Worth saying twice though not intentional
