If they are going to remaster something, why can't they grab something from either PS2 or Xbox days?!

This is what I mean when I say gamers legit need to educate themselves on the hobby they partake in. The team that ports this, is contracted merely to port the game, not make a game from the ground up.

A port can take weeks to make, not YEARS.

A port can cost as low as 1 million, not 50 or 60 MILLION like a ground up game.

A port can be made by a team as small as 10 members, one of the best port teams in the world Aspyr is made up of about 10 developers, their job is to PORT, NOT CREATE! You are NOT talking about the same thing, dear god understand the business, understand the practice and you'll get just how silly your comment is.

Maybe when you get what a port is, you'll get its not an either or, Gearbox was never making Halo 3 just because they ported Halo 1 and 2 to PC, Bluepoint games was NEVER making Uncharted 5 or Last Of Us 2 just because they made the Uncharted collection.

Porting and developing is not the same thing, its not the same cost, its not the same number of developers, it doesn't take the same time...

So you want an epic new IP with a team of 10, that takes 6 months to make, for less the 1 million? O_o? Help me understand how you believed a port was in the way of a new IP, that could be done with a staff of over 200, takes YEARS to make, costing anywhere from 50 to 80 million...

Yet the port is in the way? That is like saying me buying a McChicken on the dollar menu is in the way of me buying a brand new video game.

1 cost $1...one cost $60.

How can the thing that cost $1 be in the way of the thing that cost $60? It is not an either or, could I not have both? Start thinking of gaming that way please as it seems many on here make such statements because the do not know the real cost or process of game development.

@Pyg- No one is saying he can't. Merely saying he needs to at least answer why he feels its "better" despite a remaster being something adds onto, its not merely the exact same build.

You can want BC, nothing wrong with that, but saying "better"?

Sorry but having something upgraded by default is better then merely having the ability to play that in which you already own. Does he not own a 360? lol. I mean...I own my PS3, I own my PC... I can still play Mass Effect, telling me I can play the game I already own isn't really a benefit to me lol

Maybe he wants to sell his 360, or give it to his couple/cousin/sibling. Maybe he finds it more convenient having all his Xbox games playable in a single console. He might not have his 360 at hand anymore for all we know.

Point is, some people are okay with playing their games in older consoles. I, for example, don't rush to double dip for every remaster that releases, because I don't feel the need to, and would rather spend that money on games that I haven't played before.

Also, he never said he wouldn't want these remasters made, he merely mentioned he'd rather have them through BC.
