In an era filled with overly serious and hyper-competitive first-person shooters, a return of TimeSplitters would be a welcome change of pace, gaming columnist Jake Magee writes.

These five game series by various studios which has gone dormant over the years, and that's a shame because they had so much potential.
Resistance is a great one. I’m also sad there are no more Killzone, Dishonoured and Deus Ex games coming.
diddy kong racing

Embark on a legendary dark fantasy adventure, mix tech and monsters for thrilling hunts, build a community of woodland worshippers, compete in two-wheeled races and more with August’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup!
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Wild Hearts, Cult of the Lamb, Ride 5 and more titles are playable from August 20 for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members*.
We’re also announcing new classics – including the legendary TimeSplitters series – and PS VR2 game offerings coming to PlayStation Plus Premium
This is a great month for me, I have almost bought Wild Hearts a ton of times and same for Cult of the Lamb.
Some really good variety here, and some serious playtime on offer here with all the RPG's. Good luck finishing all these games in a month heh.
Time Splitters is fantastic on the classic side, and glad to see they keep supporting PSVR2 with games
For me, the redeeming titles are the Time Splitters ones. Sadly i do not subscribe to premium, only extra.
Not the best month for me other than timesplitters!! Can't wait to replay them again, be nice if they have trophies too but no danger of they don't, can't wait!

Unveiled footage of the cancelled TimeSplitters game emerges after Free Radical's closure, igniting fans' nostalgia and hopes for a revival.
From looking at the gameplay, it just looks like Fortnite, this would have been very poorly received by timesplitters fans.
I'm glad this got cancelled, what's with the Fornite knockoff? TimeSplitters was an FPS, not a 3rd person battle royale.
What were they thinking?
I got into a minor disagreement with their staff shortly after the closure, after i commented about a Timesplitters HD remaster to gauge public reception before such a big project here:

Looking at the gameplay footage, it's clear that the staff (no matter what level) we're out of their depth, putting lots of hours into a game that would of been DOA if Embracer didn't shut it down.
They removed the footage. Here it is if anyone's interested: https://youtu.be/BesmfPD8fj...
It's basically a Fortnite clone. Seems like a good decision to cancel this game.
AW SHIT, IT'S TIME TO SPLIT!!!
I love TimeSplitters even to this day. Those games had a perfect blend of bizarre, cheeky, absurdist humor, and had shit-loads of content as well. The third game literally had 150 playable characters in the multiplayer. I remember how you could create your own maps and then upload them online for others to test out/enjoy. TS2 was also amazing. It had LAN support so you could have up to 16 players in a multiplayer frag-fest if you wanted. In fact, with VPN-style tunneling you can technically still play that game online if you've got friends to play it with!
If you guys are interested, check out a fan project called TimeSplitters Rewind. It's being developed for PC and the devs plan to do a console release at some point when the game is finished. It's pretty much a multiplayer-focused composite of TS2 & 3 with modern-day visuals. It's gonna be sick. http://www.tsrewind.com/ind...
It is coming back. It's called Timesplitters rewind coming to PC and PS4.
Love this series, still play them regularly as they have bots and the single player and co-op which are fun.
Would love to see the Timesplitters rewind actuallt happening.
Or rerelease all 3 on PS4 PS2 classics with HD upscaling.
Would love to see a new one. Unfortunately I feel like the bizarre and cheeky humor has left the gaming industry.
