The Latest No Man's Sky Patch Details

From GameWatcher: "No Man's Sky has been out for a bit now and it got off to a rocky start. It's a big game with big ambitions and a big universe to try to encompass everything after all. That said, Hello Games isn't sitting on its heels letting problems be problems. They've released several patches already and have worked tirelessly to ensure that the game runs the way it ought to."

Haven't the patch notes for the last three already been detailed and posted here? I expected this to be for the 1.06 that will be coming out.

spoilerjerk3566d ago

All the patching in the world will never resolve the biggest issue with the game... that it is nothing like the E3 trailers. I maxed out my exosuit/starship/multitool, finished the Atlas path but gave up on going to the center because there is no point and never saw a planet in the 70+ I visited that looked anywhere near as dynamic as what Sean showed. I never wanted multiplayer to begin with in this game... what I did want is something that looked even half as fun as the gameplay we were shown.

You must be very unlucky. My first planet had many different animals, and plant life... Lakes and oceans... Outposts with aliens... Caves and mountain ranges... And monoliths and plaques. I learned a fascinating tale of the Vy Keen, and over 200 words before I left my solar system.

Your post is very disingenuous though and sounds much like the marketing for No Man's Sky since day one. My first planet had 12 different "species" of fauna, lush grassy fields as far as the eye could see with oceans, countless outposts, shelters, caves (got lost in first one for over an hour) and learned over 40 words from monoliths alone and saw many of the aliens you speak of with their short form poems. The problem is none of it was very good.

The first planet, and every other planet, has one environment that is duplicated around a massive sphere. Same yellow zinc flora, same red thamium9, same pillar of heridium, etc... the only difference is snow planet, water planet, grass planet, desert planet. Outposts are always the same design, mix and matched like lego pieces with different colors. Aliens are paraplegic, unable to move their legs but make the same goofy arm gesture when you first interact with them - that is when they can take 5 seconds looking away from their tablet. Caves like planets have the same design, just with pieces shuffled around... oh look, there is a cave with platinum, gold and iron again! Monoliths and plaques after a few dozen planets start to repeat the same tired poetry giving you words that have no impact on the actual game Everyting in this game is the same designed elements thrown together in slightly different ways.

Actually, the more I look at your post the more you sound like Sean Murray himself. Maybe next time you could say "majestic" lakes and oceans or "wondrously inventive" animals. I loved this game the first week, but then reality finally set in that this is a tech demo. And again, nothing looks even remotely close to the E3 demos they showed off.. you will never see ships, sentinels or creatures move like they do in those demos. Certainly nothing in those 18 quintiliion planets that looks as cool as this: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

If you maxed all those out you would've played for around 50hrs, maybe even closer to 100hrs.

For a game you didn't find to be fun you sure put a lot of time into it.

@burn,

Actually he/she said-

'what I did want is something that looked even half as fun as the gameplay we were shown'

Next time don't be so condescending so you don't look like an ass when proven wrong.

Cheerio

Wow @BurnEsauX, free thinking & intelligent. You must be new here. The N4G community won't like you but please stay, we're really struggling.

It's hard work dealing with these people but we have to keep trying.

Burn, keep your god out of this, this is a gaming site, not religon class

What you say is probably true for most planets, but 70+ is really just a drop in the bucket or ocean. I could go outside and look under 70+ rocks expecting to find gold but it would be very unlikely..

Gwiz3565d ago

The Atlas path is just a single aspect of this game,i can only say...

Quitter!!!! lol

LordMaim3565d ago

Just watched the trailer that you linked below. Aside from some UI changes, the game looks exactly like that trailer.

He isn't talking about the graphics

I have to agree with sage - you must have started at the wrong area - I've been amazed at all of the different animals and plants I've discovered (one plant tried to eat me when I got close!) it 's hard to pick one animal that stands out; but it'd have to be the one that resembles a T-rex.....and it's huge!!!
I'm having a great time with the game.

My take on this game is that yes it is a big let down. But still fun to play for me. I don't have much time to play games lately, if I get to play it's maybe 5 hours a week. Maybe an hour a day. (Family & work) This game has kept me entertained and I often find I want to play it over others. Now if some of my friends are online playing something else I will join them. But when I play it's normally at night during the week, so most are offline when i'm on. My sessions with NMS are very short and I don't play long enough to get bored with all the mining and inventory BS. I've been only to 3 planets since I got the game and the one I'm on now is loaded with gold and i'm just farming away getting credits. 5/10 as it is currently.

jznrpg3565d ago

I never read all the fan posts amd hype articles as i dont for a loy of games that intereste, I feel like they always give away too much info or misimformation that ends up takimg away from the game. So for me NMS has been fun and havent been let down and I am anticipate some cool stuff coming in the future after they fix the bugs (I haven't personally had any issues yet) 7.5/10 now but i think it will go up to 8.5-9 at some poiny

I'm not surprised they are patching the game. There was so much missing from what Sean presented at the E3 that they will be patching this game for the next 2 years before they get all the content that should have been in the game when it launched. The damn game crashed 7 times on the PS4 while Angry Joe was reviewing it. Other reviewers stated they had the same problem. Many of the goals like getting the Atlas Stones and flying to the Center of the Universe is pointless. Hello Gamers wanted $60 for this garbage. It's just crazy. Not sure how this game has a 71 score on Metacritics. It's not even close to being that good. It's a repetitive mess. The fact the developers lied to everyone about the game, after raising the price due to the hype, makes it even worse.

@thorstein
What was a lie? LMAO!! Watch these two reviews and then ask that question again. It wasn't just the MP. Tons of stuff missing from this game that was show to be in the game at the E3. You have to be a blind fanboy not to know this. Hello Games really hurt their reputation with this game.

Yes, Sean said there was no multiplayer in the game AFTER two player tried to meet each other in the game. Before that time however, this was what Sean Murray was saying. So yes, he lied; about a lot of things. Not just multiplayer.

After receiving a response to my support feedback they ensured me and others they're working on the most important fixes so anyone can at least play without crashing the game.About the missing features,they're supposed to work on those when they've fixed the most of critical issues.

It's weird though reviewers actually rating games now based on being unplayable.I understand the user backlash but i'm genuinely surprised about reviewers going all out on this one.I guess receiving review copies late and having no NDA's makes you very chit chatty lol.

kraenk123565d ago

Do you even own a PS4?! I doubt it. You're just ranting and hating on something you can't play.

mogwaii3565d ago

Someone doesnt like a game and see's it for the disappointment that it is and you automatically think its some kid with some fanboy agenda. Clearly its you who is the fanboy on the attack.

XanderZane3563d ago

@kraenk12
I own a PS4 and I've already played the game. My friend was unfortunate enough to buy it. He played it for about 20hrs. I went to his house and played it for a couple hours and that was enough for me. Glad I didn't pay $60 for it.
