PS3Fanboy writes: If you read this blog, chances are you're already familiar with Sony's "10 year mantra." PS3 is an incredible piece of tech with a lot of value built into the system. However, does your average Walmart shopper know about the things PS3 can offer? Probably not. With the $200 price difference between the cheapest Xbox 360 and PS3, Sony understands that it must do a better job at marketing its message. Julie Han, Sony corporate communications, told Gamasutra that "there's a lot we can do on the marketing front," especially about features, like PS3's video store, and its connectivity with PSP. Are these things that are spoken about beyond hardcore gaming circles? Unlikely.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.
Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.
More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.
Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.
All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
because i new sony were slack in advertising when i read that some people who have a ps3 didnt even know it could play bluray movies. i had to laugh
More and better marketing needs to be done for PSP and PS3. Both are incredible pieces of tech but many people dont know about things they offer.
I definitely think that this is a problem with the lacklustre Sony advertising I have witnessed so far. The PS3 is certainly the pinnacle of technology in console gaming as well as a host of other options, that's pretty much a given, but if people (as in the average consumer) are unaware of its capabilities, its like a dog without teeth.
Come on Sony, start spreading the msg.
If they would have advertised the hell out of MGS4, I think we would have seen a new record breaking sales. MGS4 still did very well in sales but im sure if they advertised it like MS did with halo 3, we all know MGS4 would have sold way more then it did now. Anyways despite MGS4 sales, MGS4 FTW. :)
about time, even us hardcore gamers knows this, instead of showing us some peoples dancing wearing stupid clothes ,show us what the system can do, Sony should work hard in advertising their games this holidays specially LBP
