"This article was written in the early days of PSLS. We were still known as Sev1512.wordpress.com in those days. This was one of the first opinion pieces that I had written for the site. It was a pleasure to write and an even greater pleasure to read what everyone thought about it. Of course we now know that there will not be any direct competition between Resistance 2 and Killzone, but you cannot help but to love remembering the excitement about the prospect of having both games in your hands in a matter of months. To be honest, they are still being released within 3 months of each other. Yes…I am getting both."
The gaming industry moves at such a pace that it’s not surprising we’ve seen countless franchises fall into obscurity over the years.
There is a rumour that Driver 1 & 2 remasters will be released for Switch and presumably for other systems as well.

Not sure however whether this results into new games in the near future.
Ninja Gaiden? Splinter Cell? Tenchu? Virtua Fighter? Killer Instinct? Killzone?

Hugely disappointingly, it seems that Guerrilla Games, developers of the Killzone and Horizon series, may be done with Killzone for good.
1 was fine, overhyped as a " halo" killer
2 was a graphical beast at the time, and felt heavy
3 was good a refinement of 2 but not much else. weird audio issues environment were to quiet
shadow fall was pretty but bland
I dont mind if someone else takes up the mantle for the KZ franchise. We are several years removed from the first game. It certainly could use a remake to gauge interest in the rest of the series. I know it has its fans... Im thinking of how a proper reboot can rekindle that old dormant flame and bring in a new generation of fans in the process.
Would like a new IP before Horizon 3. Just because games take so long to make these days.

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.
Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!
The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer
Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱
i don't know about anyone else but i know im getting both day 1 especially resistance 2
Its hard to shell out $120 for 2 FPS games, and spend quality time with each individual game.Sony pushed back Killzone 2 because they realized people didnt want to spend hundred of dollars especially on the same genre. This would also effect sales of other titles like Motorstorm, and LBP. But it was also good that they only delayed it by 3 months because Forums would have exploded of "everything on PS3 gets pushed back" . Still its nice that the PS3 will begin the year with a bang.
r2+kz2= me not passing my classes.
Well 3 months are more than enough for the dirt to settle down. But yeah I think I will be playing both on and off. As from what I have read from previews Killzone 2 multiplayer will be the revolutionary step it needed. While R2 is R2. They can't go wrong with that.
they will coexist gorgeously in my home
but i will deff be on KZ2 way more
blastin you guys
resistance 2 online multi hardly intrest me
im in it for campaign actually(both)
