No Man's Sky Servers Currently Down

You can still play Hello Games' new space exploration title, but you won't get updated discoveries.

Wow so many people playin' NMS at the same time crashed the servers. Better spruce up some more servers, Hellogames.

freshslicepizza3602d ago

this should be handled by sony should it not? i would like to know how much of the playstation plus memberships is going back into sony's servers.

rainslacker3601d ago (Edited 3601d ago )

Same could be said about every single game with an online component day one. Did you ask how much of that XBL membership was going to servers when Halo:MCC had all those server issues for....how long was it again?

In any case, I believe Hello Games operates their own servers on this game. Read something about it, but don't care to look it up.

No, Hello Games servers shouldn't be handled by Sony. They are responsible for marketing and physical distribution, nothing more. This has nothing to do with PS+ or Sony's servers, but you already know that.

freshslicepizza3601d ago

i believe most games on xbox live are handled through microsoft servers except ea games. halo was a big mess but we all know the investments microsift has put into its servers, can the same be said for sony? in fact the ps3 seemed to have more dedicated server games than the ps4 does, is this true?

DigitalRaptor3603d ago

Good to see that it's this popular for a new IP from an indie dev, but bad that it's down.

Lsbb3602d ago

Well the game is awsome. It's to be expected

Hoffmann3602d ago

Its to be expected that the developers build strong enough servers, not that they are down.

Lsbb3602d ago

8 people made the game. Let's see you do better

mike32UK3602d ago

Give these guys a break they're an incredibly small team trying to battery to MILLIONS of players

Imalwaysright3602d ago

There are devs with much more money in their pockets and resources that seemingly can't get their servers to work properly in the 1st few days. Normally, I find that inexcusable but since Hello games is a small dev team with limited resources, I can certainly look the other way.

Hoffmann3602d ago

8 developers here, 150 developers in another case..and still the servers are down at launch and for a while people have problems, independent from the studio's size these days.

Hoffmann3602d ago

This is why I never buy games with online components at launch anymore. My last mistake was Street Fighter V at launch. Learned my lesson.

Goldby3601d ago

E required game. Tou can still play offline

TheEvilResident19973602d ago

U have to be connected to the Internet to play this game? If so I'm not buying

No Man’s Sky: Assemble Your Creatures for Battle in the Xeno Arena with the Newest Free Update

Sean writes: "Last month’s Remnant update caused much hilarity as you tooled with your newfangled gravity guns and customisable exocraft, transporting precarious industrial cargo across uneven terrain in a classic risk vs. reward fight. Our latest update is a whole different beast."
