I've spent $0 on the game and been leveling a mage and ranger up, having 0 problems with any of the missions. The graphics are amazing for a free to play game, and the only thing it's lacking at the moment is content. Combat isn't too hard, its easy to get ability cards (they give you a bunch as a result of the launch and for logging in), and it's not necessary to spend anything for job cards as you can unlock all the ones there are currently with a little time. Overall, you don't really need to spend any money on it currently.
