[UPDATE] Blizzard Servers Offline After A Massive DDoS Attack

[UPDATE] According to recent events, there is a possibility that these attacks have been carried out as an act of retaliation against the recent bans handed out by Blizzard for Overwatch. Word has been around that the ban was because some of the fans decided to take the fight back to Blizzard for banning them off the servers. For those who do not know, Blizzard carried out a massive ban wave over the weekend, handing out bans to players using bots in the game to gain an advantage.

Blizzard server have always been under such attacks. I wonder what will happen when Legion is released. At the time of Warlords of Draenor's release, it faced a big server down moment due to overload and DDoS as well.

Absolutely right! The launch of Legion will be crucial. There has been mixed reviews for Warlords of Draenor and gamers are looking forward to this edition.

For the DDoS attack, this is one has many aspects. It could be the banned players or even a random act. Only time will tell. Will there be an update to this article regarding the Blizzard and DDoS scenario?

I think Blizzard will come up with some counter-measures to make sure Legion has a smooth launch, I mean it has to after all this. And yes only time will tell the true reason behind the DDoS attack. As for the article, I think they will update this article as news comes in.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit16d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing16d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9216d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
