They'll let you think otherwise, but it is the great software that drives a console to success, that and great marketing.
You can have Nintendo quality software and it can end up like the WiiU if consumers are confused, uninformed or misinformed. Just my 2 cts.

Interesting, to say the least. At least the sweet spot appears to be one resolution up, but it's mentioned the 1440p resolution on a 4k display is like running 720p on a 1080p display. And it is technically over 5x the amount of pixels.

If Sony is serious about this, those aren't the final specs. There's also the fact that console games are more thoroughly optimized than PC games so we're likely to see even greater performance. I think it'll be more powerful than we thought. There's always the chance Sony is responding to Scorpio.

4K in your dreams, 2k 30 fps at best, 4k for video or you are looking at a very expensive console, if you want 4k dream on, they want to sell to masses, expensive is not for everyone.

Theres a difference between how its built for a pc and how it runs for a console now the difference is that consoles not using the same way the os is used on a pc, good example of this some guy tried running steam on ps4, it barely ran for shit on it why? Because steam not optimized the same way it is for pc even tho ps4 specs more than capable of running most games 1080p especially older titles but its not going to run it same way.

The next pc I plan on building will come in late 2017, and I plan to have an Nvidia gpu, Volta variation, and most likely either Intel Kaby Lake or CannonLake cpu. I will be master of my own domain, I will be lord of my own fiefdom. I fear no reprisals.

I will probably also pick up the ps4 Neo and retire my ps4 and ps3, as the Neo will become my de facto 4k blu ray player and will enable the ps4 exclusives to look their very best (and more importantly for me, hopefully run to 60fps with stability) with my 4k setup. The Scorpio will be redundant for me due to the fact the pc I plan to replace my current pc with will be a complete monster, and as Microsoft's exclusives now come to Windows it makes that console a no go. I am considering the NX for Zelda, though that depends on what it actually turns out to be...I'm not a big fan of it being handheld primarily because I already have enough devices to carry around with me, lugging around more tech doesn't really appeal to me.

Interesting read as long as you remember the Neo specs are complete speculation and comparing Console to PC is fundamentally flawed anyway. Console API's, RAM Architecture (hUMA etc), compute capabilities and Dev optimisation are impossible to accurately emulate by simply emending clock speeds.

I have a feeling they've gone back to the drawing board and upgraded or even overclocked the machine. I don't feel this is a fall release but a spring 2017 release, the leak was from January 2016.

They could pull off a safe stable over clock to the GPU and CPU to a 5.2 teraflop of performance and be able to address some issues in these theoretical demonstrations.

Still what I'm seeing does impress me, 1800 and 1440p performance on consoles is pretty sweet. Seeing this also gets me excited for Scorpio.

This isn't the 1st time something like this was done. Like always the actual console turned out to be much weaker than their PC specs counter part. Unlike the PC the console must run at a much lower clock speed, many of which are highly variable to mitigate heat and power concerns which wasn't simulated here.

All I want is 1080p locked 60fps & ultra graphics settings as standard. I'll be very happy with that.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
