Deus Ex Mankind Divided is a game many are hoping will be the next
generation in narrative progressing first person RPG awesomeness. The only
issue is that the series has slowly deviated from its original concept.
Should it look back on itself to improve?

“Much of what I wrote for the game never made it beyond the official release, until now”

Amazon has announced the lineup of games to be added to Prime Gaming for the month of August, 2024 and it features Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

The Epic Games Store has a new free game, and they want to augment your life with it.
Mass Effect tried this, and it ended up not making much difference because the choices still put us right back into the same story arc. If the choices altered the story in any meaningful ways, by the time we get to the third game there would have to be at least a few dozen main story arcs that were vastly different. I would think that something on that scale would be nearly impossible with today's programming.
The only things I didn't like about Human Revolution were the boss battles, the opening section of the game where shooting your way out is your only option, and the "press the button" ending. Sort those out, add some more lore and intrigue, (connecting it with the original Deus Ex) and they just might have a near perfect game.
Oh, and bring back the Men in Black and dragon sword from the first game. That would be beyond epic. :D

I'm currently playing Human Revolution Director's Cut via backwards compatibility on XB1. I think the game is decent, but the game lacks polish in my opinion, stealth and shooting is clunky. Also Human Revolution for a 2011 release, looks very sub-par, it often looks like a 360 launch game. I feel like I'm mainly playing through the game because of it's story, rather than the actual gameplay.
Human Revolution is on my all time favorite list so I have total faith that Mankind Divided will deliver on all fronts.
Boss battles aside, DRHR was one of the few games I was able to play through multiple times. I just loved the aesthetic of the game, the presentation, music, all really felt so unique. I have no doubts that the sequel will be enjoyable. Side note, I never got to play the Directora Cut, but just how different were the boss fights in that version?
