Another game I need to try out just as bad as No Man's Sky

TheColbertinator3586d ago

Its not too exciting and the controls are tough on console but the mini adventures you have really make Elite a charming franchise. I recommend the PC version.

My PC couldn't handle even Pac-Man let alone this game.
:(

If The Xbox One Allows HOTAS down the road then I would love to give my X52 a try on that and my 60". On PC I love playing it with my Saitek X52 and my 34" screen, but moving up to the 60" would be just as immersive.

I agree. I regret spending $60 on it. No Man's Sky seems to be more for me.

It can be really intense at times..
Had most of my money tied to cargo I was hauling when i got attacked by pirates.. accidentally jettisoned all cargo while routing all my power to shields, in the heat of battle

Kinda fun to learn to fly the ship and go exploring, but it is shallow as hell. The planets all look pretty much the same (1000 different shades of rock) and they try to make up for the lack of interesting content with "mysteries" like this that amount to little more than a tiny in-game event and a whole lot of forum exposition fluff. There's not much to see or do. Once you've gotten bored with the cool docking experience and mined a few asteroids it is a snooze fest.

My ship is somewhere a few hours outside the main "bubble" (the small part of the galaxy where all life resides) where I abandoned the game in the middle of an exploration expedition. Reason? I stopped to think "why?", realized how boring it was, and never looked back.

Frankly, even after all this time, it hardly even qualifies as a beta for a game. It's like the infrastructure for a game they have yet to make.

Pretty much this. Game is a grindfest right now. Only reason why I have so much time in the game! I wanted to get the best engines and weapons and ships but then realized that there's jack all to do past that.

3 years on and still enjoying elite, this game has huge potential in game play if only frontier can get the balance right!! it has been very hard for frontier to please the beginners and elite advanced pilots with the cheating AI mods and the grinding for materials for mods for your ship, but Frontier listen to the fans and elite players you can't say that about some gaming companies who build games and make you put up with bad programing and glitches and never fix them!!!

The news letters are worth a read http://email-elitedangerous...

see you on the Black CMDR

It's been 3 years and it still has massive flaws in terms of gameplay design. At some point it will be time to throw in the towel.
