IGN: FaceBreaker Review

Overall FaceBreaker doesn't deliver on many of its goals. It's designed to provide a rock-paper-scissor style gameplay experience, but players will likely end up feeling cheated and overly frustrated by the core gameplay. There are too many balancing issues and cheap moves given to some characters to keep players around for more than a couple of hours. The multiplayer options help a bit, but not enough to pull FaceBreaker up from the lower tier of fighters.

Another (rushed) classic game made by EA to steal $50 off you

Montrealien6476d ago (Edited 6476d ago )

another kneejerk response from a tinfoil hat wearing gamer.

I had some mild fun on the demo with a few friends, I might be checking it out when it`s the bargain bins. What where we really expecting with this one? It is what it is.

Dont get it , iv never heard that before , did you bang your head?

Montrealien6476d ago (Edited 6476d ago )

you`re the one that does not get it, maybe you banged you head? ;P

Seriously though, what where we all expecting from an arcade boxing game from EA? I triple AAA must own fighter? Or a mindless button masher?

I knew that this game would be crappy. It just looked like another Ready to Rumble with beefed up fighters.

but i am still buying it. I need a fast and over the top boxing game. FN is great and all but it takes ages for you to get a turn when playing with lots of friends. I simply like this game and i am getting it.

I thought it was okay, like a 7/10. Too simple but fun, you know? Should have been a downloadable game. I liked the comical cartoon style, and the throwback to "Ready 2 Rumble" for the Dreamcast was cool, but I am still not going to drop $50 on it when all these great games come out in October & November.

How is anyone still playing to find that out?

Sometimes bad things happen on accident

brish4948d ago

From the article:
"Real Steel is, believe it or not, one of the top 10 best selling games on XBox Live Arcade. Considering the prevalence of the DLC, and the number of people playing, it’s a safe bet that Real Steel has become a surprisingly steady source of income for Yukes."

So a company is continuing to update and support a popular title.

... and the problem is what exactly?

SilentNegotiator4948d ago (Edited 4948d ago )

TOP TEN??!?
That mediocre game is in the TOP TEN?!?

:O

In the same way that Harry Potter had 20 games

GFB Reviews FaceBreaker for Xbox 360

GFB writes: "Facebreaker could have been a spectacular game. I couldn't help but believe that the developers made a genuine effort to create a fun game worth playing. Unfortunately, bad AI and broken elements create an ugly experience that turns most away within minutes of popping the disc in."
