Faces are good but they all look like skinny biatchs

cemelc6467d ago

First time reading about this game, doesnt seem to be on pair with crysis.

Sony Rep6467d ago

This must be running on PS3 devkits.

CrippleH6467d ago

OMG so realistic that he's not even holding the gun in his hands.

*Bursts with excitement*

sak5006466d ago

LOL
He's holding it from the muzzle lest it fires from his twitchy fingers. Reminds me of early BIA:Highway to hell screens showing awesome footage of so called in game gameplay but the closer the release date comes the videos coming out now starting to show the reality which is not even upto COD4 standard. I'll take these pics with grain of salt.

moses6467d ago

I mean, this game will be on a massive scale I presume, so in that sense it looks good. But comparing to crysis, I don't think so. The models are clunky, the bloom/hdr is off, and the textures are no where near Crysis quality. Foliage isn't that great either

Perkel6466d ago

so true, but ligthening is WAAAAYYY better. This game looks like real photos form conflict zones. Crysis/warhead still looks like game..

one more thing. hmm look at real life andshow me so HDR effects :) almost none :)

More help for Ivan and Martin

With the first public protests planned for the 26th of November in Prague, a letter of Czech President Vaclav Klaus to the Greek Government seems to bring a new momentum to the cases of the two imprisoned Bohemia Interactive Devs Ivan and Martin. The matter is now proclaimed an issue of international diplomacy between the two states, however the words of Klaus appear rather cautious and hollow, taking into account the tremendous weight of the accusations against the two.

Bonerboy4921d ago (Edited 4921d ago )

Do these two have anything to do with Dayz development? Regardless, Im sure given the state of Greece and its economy; Greece assumes these two are multi millionaire devs or at least backed by a multi million dollar game company. Perhaps Greece is hoping to "cash in" before they agree to release these two innocent vacationers.

bav4921d ago

Ivan and Martin worked on the Chernarus map, they were not directly involved in DayZ development. But they could have been involved in making Chernarus Plus for the Standalone, if they were not detained in greece. :/

No bail for imprisoned ArmA 3 Developers

As the czech news provider Rozhlas reveals, the two imprisoned Bohemia Interactive employees Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar have been denied any right to post bail. After 70 days of jail, a period far longer than usual, they now face a court trial in front of a Greek jury on the acclaimed accusations of espionage on military installations. By Greek law this could mean a possible imprisonment of up to 20 years, if they are found guilty.

This is total B.S.

If anyone wanted info on their bases all you gotta do is log onto Goolge Earth and hit Zoom +

Greece is Bankrupt anyway so their bases are filled with equipment that is falling apart or stuff being sold off to raise cash!

killerhog4930d ago (Edited 4930d ago )

If I'm correct their parents contacted the president and prime minister, so I'm sure they'll be released once the Czech Republic pays for their freedom.

"If anyone wanted info on their bases all you gotta do is log onto Goolge Earth and hit Zoom + "

Doesn't matter. Countries don't tend to like foreigners entering restricted military space without permission and with camcorders that will contribute to the creation of a video game played by thousands of people.

That's kinda a big no no.

MAJ0R4930d ago

I don't think they entered a restricted military zone. They were just seen taking photos of military compounds, and most likely other parts of the island. It's pretty obvious they were there to take pictures of the landscape for the game.

Those charging these people who have families and kids at home with espionage should be slapped.

Zodiac4930d ago

the reports say that the got photos and video of a military base.

They may not have known it was a military base, but the worlds governments could care less if you did something by accident. That flew out the window a loooooong time ago.

They are most likely still be held there under technicalities, but it was a incredibly stupid move on the developers part.

I don't believe they should held there this long, but they didn't exactly do something as trivial as keeping the flash on in a museum.

Also, they were arrested on the spot. They obviously were where soldiers were patrolling.

I give my support to them, but they really screwed themselves here.

ChronoJoe4930d ago

If you payed attention, they're Arma 3 developers... so taking photos of the base was clearly their intent, not accidental.

For the most part that's not that big of a deal provided you don't enter a restricted area. I have a military base near my house at home, it's pretty generic in structure and a few photos aren't liable to harm a sound security system.

Who would want to spy on Greek military bases anyway, of all places? If it were wartime or a time of tension between Greece and uh, anywhere... this might be more understandable.

Drainage4930d ago

they are lucky the government controls our military weapons and vehicles...

LocutusEstBorg4930d ago (Edited 4930d ago )

Thanks to the internet making a big deal out of this, we can get the government to listen. Anyone else would be screwed.

GreenRanger4930d ago

They're lucky they didn't get their heads blown off.

Just finished playing a seven hour long multiplayer game in ArmA 2.

Was fucking amazing, and if you've got a PC you owe it to yourself to check out both ArmA 2 and ArmA: Armed Assault.

fossilfern5519d ago

Iv been look at Arma 2 for a while. How did your game last 7 hours ? Is it a true Military sim ?

Drjft5519d ago (Edited 5519d ago )

The game type we play is called "Warfare".

It's 32 players, 16 a side, each with a maximum of 14 AI soldiers, so 448 soldiers on the map at any given time, you can also get tanks, light vehicles (Jeeps, APC's, Trucks, Artillery pieces etc) and air vehicles.

There's about twenty five towns, and each has a central bunker that's similar to a flag in the Battlefield series.

By capturing more towns you get more 'Supply', and you use 'Supply' to buy new vehicle depots and unlock additional weapons and vehicles.

It lasted so long because we were constantly skirmishing and fighting for control of some of the central towns.

At the end we found the enemy base (Their secondary one) so we loaded a CH-47 aka a Chinook with 36 AI soldiers and parachuted them over the base.

That didn't work... even after the third time so we tried using a C-130 with 40 soldiers in it including human players, got shot down...

So then we used a Chinook to airlift an M1A1 Abrams behind their base onto a hill that overlooked their position and destroyed their base.

Was a good game, and they had us on the ropes for a couple of hours coming close to finding our main base a number of times.

If you've got any more questions just ask - brycewilson@drjft.com.

You can check my YouTube channel for heaps of gameplay; "www.youtube.com/iGameRec ord".

I've also attached a screenshot of the playing map about midway through the game, and yeah, ArmA 2 is the most realistic and authentic military simulator commercially available.

There is only one way to run Arma 2 and that is with ACE 2 and Operation Arrowhead. The PMC add on was BI's best yet. If people do not realize what is available...free... for this one of a kind title then I suggest they go here:

You won't ever look at trash like COD the same way again.
