The come stronger in hardware department the next gen...or they are done...people will just want more in the hardware the next time around. They will have to come strong with a good online service to...

They need a Wii 3 that is at least 720p with a HDMI connection and dolby digital sound....and graphics on par with the second gen xbox (Xbox 360)...

It is amazing how much old tech is in all the nintendo products...the DS has been using processors that were outdate years ago...

It is amazing. I think this means that people want to have more intuitive ways of playing games than having the games look real. That and price is what's making it sell well. I wonder when it'll be too much though, like people may be turned off by having to put on some motion capture suit or something.

" people will just want more in the hardware the next time around. They will have to come strong with a good online service to...
"
This is the mindset of the "typical" GAMER.
more than half of the audience doesn't even realizes how well a online mode could be.

" the DS has been using processors that were outdate years ago..."
But its all the hardware needs, it works so what is the problem?
You think they make a new Chip with every product they make?
Lots of hardware in the world uses "outdated" tech simply because it's enough.

Have you seen the line up for TGS? I'm talking about the DS games.
70+ Games...
Now with that outdates hardware developers seem to love it.

DS is doing lots more than the GBA, so the hardware is advancing.
It's not a leap in hardware like the PS3, but its not like they aren't making the hardware more efficient.

...is why the Wii is cleaning up at the moment.

The next gens price will drop and they are likely to develop their own version of the wii-mote/chucks. But many Wii owners will likely also buy the next-gen consoles when they are cheap enough.

The question is whether they will buy both or just one...and if one, which one?

And Nin will have built a fan based for the Wii 2 which will highly likely be a HD console with HDD - nothing revolutionary allowing it to sell cheaper than the competition. Clever Nintendo.

From interviews they didn't think that it would've been widely accepted as quick as it was...I guess many people really wanted to play games, but were scared of complexity.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
