for me both are bad ideas.

People don't want to admit it. But the Scorpio is really the Xbox 2. And will probly be the last Xbox Console we ever see.

Scorpio is definitely the better Idea/Concept imo. PS4K is essentially my current PS4 with better 4k support... so not sure how that could be the better "idea".

That said I still don't think either of those systems will be able to run 4k natively very effectively. It takes some serious PCs to hold 4k near 60fps is today's titles, let alone some of the newer games coming this year.

Would have to be scorpio. It would be the most powerful games console, controlled by a team who are fighting for customers. Xbox as things stand is a more exciting brand to me.

Here is the problem, we really know nothing about the PS4K aka Neo other than what the rumor mills are putting out. If it's what everybody assumes it will be which is basically a slightly more powerful / efficient PS4 with 4K up-scaling capability (just like the Xbox One S is to the current Xbox) then you are comparing two different machines. In terms of raw specs, Scorpio would easily beat the PS4K / Neo if we go by what the rumors are giving us. This is were Sony messed up, they should have explained all of this to us at E3 instead of letting rumors pass as facts. Currently, Microsoft has released firm information on the Xbox One S (with a release date) and some useful information on the Scorpio. Why hasn't Sony with the exception of the PSVR released any sort of information about any new PlayStation console being released this year or future? I really hate when one company gets a pass on this sort of stuff because of blind fanboys. I own both systems but I am honestly more excited with what Microsoft is attempting to do future wise than Sony right now. I am a gamer not a fanboy.

Wait is the PS4K, Neo? I know they also working on a slim but wasnt sure if the slim will have 4K. Thanks.

Well I'll be picking up Neo for 4k bluray support and to play the PS4 games I already have.

Depends on what you're after. If you're only looking to spend $399 or less, the PS4K seems to be the only option. With the promised power of the Scorpio I would not be surprised to see it launch for $499, $599 or even considerably more, considering what comparable graphics cards sell for today.

I still want to know how much Xbox Scorpio will cost ? High ended PC with lower specs than Xbox will cost me more than $1000, Maybe $1500 anybody ?

We need to know more about the Neo first,the power gap and maybe new features it has.We never know.

Call me crazy, but I think statements about the viability of the PlayStation Neo against the Xbox Scorpio shouldn't be made until...oh I don't know...the specs for BOTH consoles are actually announced. I mean that is something that any reasonable, objective person that isn't already a fanboy would do. The Playstation 4K/Neo/Whatever hasn't even been formally revealed yet.

Both are a good ideas if devs, and some gamers have been crying the X1 and current PS4 don't have enough power.

well how the hell would we know? Its not like there is anything official to go by. BUT considering Playstation's bigger install base, and the sheer number of exclusives offered for the Playstation brand, I would say the games lean toward PS4 Neo being the better option as it stands.

Add to that the fact that Scorpio will not have any exclusives, I think PS4 Neo would be the better option as Scorpio will compete with your PC (if you have one).

How can anyone answer this ? we barely know anything about the Neo. And We haven't even seen the content on Scorpio.

For once I'm glad Microsoft and Sony gave the media absolutely nothing to compare. There is no way to proclaim one way or the other. No real difference between the two as of yet official. You can't turn it into a winner or loser yet. They are both the same idea anyway. The slight differences will be nearly the same we see already in the regular console versions.

Let's see, The Neo is happening because Sony want's to push VR and the PS4 is just too weak to do that and the Scorpio is happening because it's Microsoft's next gen console. I like the next gen console idea better.

Clearl Xbox scorpio and not in term of power. The way microsoft approach it is better, they are more open for VR like using HTC vive and Occulus Rift. Because of that microsoft is already a step ahead. Public like to have choice as example Iphone vs Androids I love my Iphone but Androids clearly is seen way more positively by public because they are more open unlike Apple. In history the one who is more open always end winning a good exemple is VHS vs Betamax. VHS won cause they opened it to everyone and made it more competetive. So in the end Microsoft will end winning. Also at first Xbox one was seen negatively cause it was too much restricted, they had to change their politicy.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
