I'm okay with the game being in first person simply because Resident Evil as a Series has barely been about physically how the game plays.

The game went from third person fixed camera to a moving camera and a closer 3rd person over the shoulder and was completely fine.

What essentially ruined the Resident Evil series for many veteran fans Was the removal of their survival aspects. the removal of limited ammo, limited weaponry, limited Life, limited saves, along with puzzles..

I actually could care less between fix camera , over the shoulder or first person those are actually largely irrelevant to the core concept of Resident Evil.

Removing the core concept hurt the series, how you physically play the game is actually kind of irrelevant..
Resident Evil has always been a series that is more so based on the concept of what you're doing as opposed to how it feels. There are a couple games out there that are more so based on what you're doing as opposed to how it feels like LA Noire or many RTS games or even the Battlefield series.

Resident Evil is very much one of those games where the actual idea of the game is much more important than the feeling of it as many Resident Evils feel different but without the core concept of those survival elements and actually is irrelevant to most consumers who play the series.

If you played Resident Evil simply because of how it felt to shooting you might as well jump on the mafia series Gears of War and every other third-person over-the-shoulder type game, Resident Evil is largely not actually about that.
